Boo... but what if the winner isn't one of the Arishok's fangirls? I say 1st & 2nd place titles get swapped at least, or perhaps take Arishok out altogether and make 1st Hero of Ferelden. After all, it's possible to have Warden Commander *and* Hero, if the Hero sacrificed him or herself killing the Archdemon.

Thank you wangxiuming for the review! That phrase was due to the word count. My "short stories" still tend to be 20 pages Since this is the second thing I've written in the last dozen years, I think I did surprisingly well!

I was very sad when Daveth didn't make it through the joining. I always enjoy redemptive/change of heart heroics of the characters with unsavory pasts.

I know exactly what you mean. Although, if I've commited unspeakable things, I would prefer to know about it, even if it's scary. It's the key to improvement, after all.
