I noticed on DG's Twitter that he's sent off the list of winners. Like the Cylons, the Final Five walk among us, unaware of their true nature.

Quite fitting.

That comparison just made me laugh out loud at my desk.  Glad no one's around.  And that I wasn't drinking my water.

Here's the latest from the DragonAge twitter account:

"Winners of Asunder Writing Challenge announced Feb. 1st on BioWare Blog! Thanks @davidgaider and #writerspit for judging! Good luck guys!"

I could be wrong, but I think it might have been expanded into a Top 20. Per a tweet to me by David from last night...

"@DarrowJames I wish everyone could win. Not ending up in the top 20 should not be taken as unworthiness-- there was a lot of good stuff."

Also, for the (maybe) last time: GOOD LUCK EVERYBODY AND CONGRATS TO THE WINNERS! It sounds like there was a lot of good competition out there and I'm totally sure that whoever won has got an awesome, awesome entry!

Only because we still hope that we are going to win. As soon as the winners are announced we are going to tear each other apart.

Or not.

I hope that at least one of the people I got to know and learned to like here wins. That would be almost as good as winning myself. Almost. ;)

My husband just cheered me up. He's a music teacher.

He just left the house saying, "I'm going to run a competition with year nine, today. You know? Make up a song?"

I was like, "Oh yeah."

He said, "Yeah. Then the winner gets a 20 minute Skype conversation with me. And the four runners up get signed copies of the class roll."

*facepalm* He's a non-gamer. I also figured he hadn't been listening when I'd been grizzling about this competition. I guess he has. Cheered me up rather a lot. :D

Heh, I hope we don't go nuts and try to rip each other to shreds. As much as I can't say I've been around on the board here too much, I do admit that I like this community a lot. To that end, I wish everyone the best of luck while we wait and say congrats to the ultimate winners.

Yeah, there are good people here. They welcomed me and everyone else quite nicely. It's open and welcoming and it's easy to wish just the best of luck to such people.

@Firky: Your man is a great husband it seems. :)

I hope this isn't the case. I am an older poster (age wise) and I think it would only present itself as another reason why I don't post on the boards often if at all. Personally whoever wins or places in this contest has fulfilled the standard of the contest and went beyond. For any of us to have such adverse an opinion to it is null. And should the very people who literally have breathed life into this product feel that someone contributed to it, then their opinion clearly outweighs our own.

It is difficult to engage in constructive exchanges with direct competition as the goal. But some have made the best of it while celebrating the concepts of the genre less the 'win' in the results. It has been a fun exercise to say the least! Let's hope it directly taps the hubris of each writer to understand that this is just an ounce of the effort it takes to make Dragon Age relevant and a product of choice for so many.

Thank you for the opportunity Bioware! May there be many more to come from the successes your team has achieved.

It's great to see such positive attitudes from a lot of really great writers on this board.

With that said, as a fellow competitor I'd like to wish you all the worst, and I hope you all lose!

.......Just being honest.

I'm not expecting (and I don't think there will be) any ill-feeling towards winners. I'm just hoping to read the top entries, if only out of curiosity to see what kind of style and composition they picked as being the best of the bunch. A fun and interesting exercise, and great idea by Bioware.

While it is awesome and yet very torturing at the same time, I'm annoyed by the fact that I don't know when on Feb. 1st they will be announced because of the fact that I live in Europe. Time diffrences can drive you mad. Anyways, I look forward to know who wins this and hope that this type of event will occur in the future again. It was fun.

Well in that case, I suppose I'll share mine assuming I win. Heck, I'll probably share it even if I lose, because why not?

I think it's fairly safe to assume it will be sometime during the business day local Edmonton time (GMT -7, I believe).  It'll be later in the afternoon / night for you, depending on what part of Europe you're in.

Although I've only been lurking, I thoroughly enjoyed following this thread while anxiously awaiting the results. Just wish I could continue talking with you guys in the Writer's Lounge, but I no longer have my copies of DA:O and DA2 :(.

Anywho, a sincere best of luck to everyone who entered. I'm sure I'll be reading all the winner's entries on the 1st :)

Look here. There already 56 stories of the competition. SoLD takes care of that thread. If you want you can post there too. :)
