Well...there's an age limit to use these forums, and all EA's services per the FAQ.

It's 18. ;)

What about writing experience?

It wouldn't be fair if someone who enters is actually a published author or something. It'd be like having Stephen King swoop in and write a fic about a mage turning into an abomination and slaughtering everyone around him/her and blowing everyone else out of the water. lol

Of course... I should have known. Thank you (:

I hope that the BSN popo won't shut me down ): I miss out on too many things as it is just because I'm not deemed old enough.

I know what you mean but there is no real way for the dev's to determine that really  since we all have assumed identities - the easiest to spot are the ones with shocking grammer/writing skills - so I will not be suspected at least LOL.

I am a little concerned I will be disqualified as correct grammer etc is taken into account, I have improved but I still rely on my BETA reader to improve stuff - I dont think Betas would be allowed.

At the end of the day why could you not write something better than Stephen King or some other published author - I have read one or two fan-ficts that I enjoyed as much as many other books I have enjoyed in the past.

Being unpublished = undiscovered.

This comp could launch you into infamy.

PLEASE PLEASE edit your work, show it to friends and ask for their critical eye, and edit your work again. As long as your beta reader doesn't do the writing for you, there's absolutely nothing wrong with having someone edit your work.

All writers have editors (the BioWare eidtors are particularly amazing folk!) so PLEASE I cannot stress this enough, edit edit edit.

Hmmm... It's been a very long time since I last exercised my writing skills, but I'm tempted to give this a go. Do the stories need to be completely original though? (If, for example, we recounted and expanded on a passing mention from DA lore, would it be disqualified?)

Does the story have to be directly from the from the perspective of a Mage or Templar, or can it simply be waist deep in their conflict?

question: if a soldier left the army, could he join the Chantry and become a Templar?

Just want to say - this is an awesome challenge.

One question though: Can we create our own locations? So, for example, can it take place in an area of the Free Marches, near Kirkwall, with references to Kirkwall, but also having a small new area linked to the lore (like ruins)?
Thanks!

I've spent two days reading the blight out of the Wiki [ah, see what I did there? xD] and there was so much more to Dragon Age than I could imagine. The history is so interesting. I've got no problem with coming up with a creative idea and writing it, the only problem I have (a rather, huge problem) is the 2,500 word limit. >_<
