Thank God the waiting is over. Now the endless self-recriminations can begin. :P

Hi guys!

Just posted the results to the writing challenge. You can see them here. David Gaider also posted a lovely companion piece that you can read here.

Please discuss the results in a new thread that you will find here!!!! I probably won't check this thread as much so make sure you're posting in the new thread. Image IPB

Thanks again to everyone who entered. We really enjoyed reading and will be having more fiction challenges in the future!

Cheers!

Love Mr. Gaider's companion piece.... makes me wish I tried harder or that he read something more original of mine.

Congrats to the winners. I'm interested in particular to read the story that came in at first. Curiosity's like that.

Congrats to the winners.

I'll be taking the editing hatchet to my entry and trying it elsewhere, I guess.

Well, looked at the source code on the"blank" page, and saw who the top 20 were, and the winner. Congrats to all of you who placed, and to those that had submitted...and congratulations to Kilyra! Does any one know where I could read this submission?

ps. Already checked the thread in Fan Creations....that story isn't listed.

I guess it did.

I'm rather speechless to be honest. With my mistakes and all that! But now I'm ashamed if someone reads it. I would like to correct my mistakes beforehand. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/pinched.png[/smilie]

(But still about to faint for my sheer luck!)

Of course, you could be feeling faint from the blood loss too. ^_~ And don't you dare go hiding that story--it was fantastic!

Or the blood loss.

No, no, I will correct the mistakes and link it in the other thread. Though it feels kind of wrong to do that...

Thank you! :kissing:

I just read DGs Storming the Sand Castle

This

DO pay attention to flow. In creative writing, flow is more important than language. Some writers will abuse a thesaurus so badly you half-expect to find it wandering dazed alongside the highway, dress in tatters and lipstick smeared across its face.

and this:

Slaughter your word-babies mercilessly, for that pain will put you in the habit of not over-populating your prose to begin with.

made me laugh so hard.

Haha, no, no, I only wanted to change the mistakes. =] I wouldn't even know how to change it, since it was finished.

Congrats to the winners. I'll admit to feeling rather gutted I didn't even reach the top twenty. Don't think I'll bother even looking at the new thread.

I send delighted congratulations to those that won. To those who did not win: You actually had YOUR story read by one of the Dragon Age writers! And they liked a lot of what was submitted. Be happy, they might remember you in the next contest and be even more impressed by you. Best of luck to everyone in the next contest!
