Hi,
To make along story short after being disappointed with DAO for many reasons I have decided to give it another chance, since my original DAO disc is now a laminated drinks coaster done in a fit of broody pique I have now ordered DAO:UE, being into mods I was wondering if some of the games more ardent fans might suggest some good mods for the game as I never modded my original copy

Well the only mod I have downloaded is called "Morrigan restoration patch" or something like that. It restores some dialogue with Morrigan and adds some new nice scenes with her. It also seems to correct some bugs. I recommend it.

IRS Alistair is another good one to get. It does much the same as the Morrigan Restoration that Jedimaster88 mentioned.

A lot depends on what you want. There are a lot of character creation mods as well as armors.
The Morrigan Dialogue Restoration Patch that Jedimaster88 recommends is really a must for a full value of her story. That mod restores cutscenes and voiced dialogue that was already in the game but cut from release. Everything in it was already available in the toolset.
IRS Alistair is good as well as ZRS (Zevran romance scenes)...while both are geared towards the romances they also restore some cut dialogue that exists outside the romances. Dialogue Tweaks has good fixes for Leliana's dialogues and fixes a bug regarding her personal quest trigger.
There are a plethora of mods for DAO both here and the DANexus.

So, so many good ones. Some of my faves thus far:
Expanded Inventory
Nightmare Plus (makes the game HARD)
Misha the Hoarder (very cool storage merchant)
Natural Bodies
Arcane Warrior Fix (will stop your mage from sheathing their weapons when casting spells)
Better Sex Scenes Mod
Dual Weapon Abilities for Arcane Warriors
Interesting Boss Drops
Kisses
Less Tedious Fade
Ras Armory
Vulak
Advanced Quickbar (gives you four quickbars)
Alley of Murders
Arcane Warrior Plus
Bodahn Tweaks
Castle Cousland (return to Cousland and fight Howe's son)
No Helmet (automatically removes helmets between battles)
Duncans Dark Armor
Elven Boots
Hammer and Anvil (dungeon crawl)
Hilltop (battles galore in saving a village)
No Kill Steal
Return to Kocari Wilds
Wolfshop (if you don't side with the werewolves, you'll miss out on some cool stuff...this fixes that)

Well I have been playing DAO for about a week now completed the core game twice each with a playthrough of that character in Awakening and RTO, SP and WH have yet to play DC or GOA, so far I have found the core game fairly enjoyable if it wasnt for the infrequent crashes despite being patched to 1.05 requiring me to constantly quicksave every minute or so.
As for the DLC its ok just doesnt feel as well put together as DA2's DLC but it is acceptable considering the whole bundle only cost £20 as part of the Ultimate edition

With such huge budgets for games, its only commonsense to invest a little more in quality assurance.
