Surely her interest in intel broking was triggered by her hunt for the greatest intel broker?

Initially she was probably just looking for Feron, needed to make a few trades to get intel on the Shadow Broker. Then I guess she started looking for any intel that might be useful to someone, on the logic that eventually the sequence of trades would lead her to what she was after. It turned out she was really good at this sort of thing, and so ended up as one of Ilium's leading brokers without ever really intending to.

Don't you mean Hugh Thompson? Jack Thompson is a bit different.    EDIT: Though he apparently dropped the name Hugh for Buck in later life...

what about samara or morinth not a huge fan of either but i'd say she would fill the niche of strong female character i mean she's basically a space samurai

Samaras a space samurai, morinth is more of a space **** but i agree with this anyway

Actually Jack was an extremely well-done character, because she's realistic.

Take it from someone who's dealt with some sh*t: Jack is real.

Jack is real. And immature. I think she was a deliberate attempt to target people in their teens. I know that will seem uppity of me, but that was my impression of her. Her history was well done though.

No, I agree. No matter how many times I play through and talk to her, she still reminds me of a bratty teenager. I've known plenty of people like her, but as Slimgrin said, immature ones.
