Should Bioware make new characters just to have a gay romance? -NO SPOILERS-

Why have romances to begin with. I, personally, think they should just get rid of all romances. Shepard has to remain professional and he's in a war zone. He has no time to deal with personal feuds and relationships.
Yeap.

This is the BSN fanbase we are dealing with. Come on. No romances. You must want BSN forum to overload from bandwidth usage because the crying would be so extreme.
I wouldn't mind NO romances. My compromise is minimal romances. 3 is a good number.

Stop being so reasonable! I like being a recluse, okay.
Well, the goal of having morals is to do good, right? If your morals are the optimal choice, you should share them. If they aren't, you should learn about alternatives so you can improve yourself. One of the best ways to do that is through research and debate.I more meant moral issues...but let's not get started there, lol.
Finding out you were wrong about something is scary, but doing so gives you the opportunity to be right and become a better person for it. And yeah, sometimes debating people is frustrating as hell, but at the very least, it's very aggressive thinking out loud, which vastly helps you sort out your own beliefs.
If morals are subjective, then you can always improve them. If they're objective, then you owe it to yourself to make sure you're following the right ones.

The resources could've been used to improve gameplay/dialogue/game length.
So yes, I think I can worry about waste of resources.
Not really. The resources used to make LIs isn't that much.
Say for DA2. They would've had to strip all the romances (s/s and o/s) just to have enough content to make 1 additional character. (I think that's what one of the devs said).
That seems like a lot of resources to me.

"Game developer 1: Hey! I've just thought of some awesome scenes and new abilities in ME3! One to take a look?
Game developer 2: Sorry, bro, we can't do this, we need to do gay romances.
Game developer 1: Yeah, I forgot about that. Maybe in the next game?"
Some news: It's not. Romances are OPTIONS, OPTIONAL content, they wouldn't put it in their priorities above the main story, if they're doing it, they can.

Whats the point of the third if you can just make the two bisexual? Realism isn't an arguement in a sci-fi world where there are blue skinned lesbians. And I can always make an arguement (with data) that everyone is to some degree bisexual.Donnstar wrote...

Okay, go play ME1, then. It's still a great game, despite its age.I liked it that way.
Nah, it's only two people. Having two bisexuals in one room is just a minor coincidence, hardly a stretch of the imagination.cause that's silly. The world isn't filled to the brim with bisexuals.
Or doing a completionist run with all the sidequests and DLC.yeah right. Maybe if you were playing with one hand.
Don't buy the DLC.Or Kasumi

Yes, yes. Sci-fi. Plausibility and believibility are two concepts you need to keep in mind. It's a sci fi. I EXPECT blue aliens, guns that shoot nuclear bombs, magical powers and huge ships.
What I don't expect is everyone in the future is suddenly bisexual. Especially when they weren't in the first game.
That being said, if I had a choice between wasting more resource to create pure homosexual chars and making current chars bisexual. I'd choose the latter. Lesser of two evils.

It's my personal belief that no matter how straight you claim to be, there is always a little gay side hidden somewhere in your sub-conscious. Just waiting to be let out... To take control, and look at a same-sex human, and say, "...Nice ass."B)
O-or if you're gay, you always have a little straight side hidden in your sub-conscious.

No. BioWare romances are enjoyed by many of their fans. A few, whiny trolls shouldn't ruin it for everyone else.
