Through Windows

After undergoing his Harrowing, Ellis is ready to accept the responsibilities that come with being a mage. He knows it’s time to put aside childish fantasies for his futures, and only wishes his friend Marlow felt the same. Instead, he is called on far too often to discipline the apprentice. One of these days, Marlow’s acts of rebellion will carry real consequences…

Hello all! Here is a synopsis of my story:

Title: The Shape Shift

Greagoir is a mage in the Circle of Magi in the city Rivaini city of Dairsmuid. One day, while exploring the Fade, he encounters a demon that cast a terrible spell on him, turning his real body into that of a monstrous spider, while leaving his mind intact. Greagoir must struggle with his new found curse. This story is an homage to the classic novel “The Metamorphosis” by Franz Kafka.

The Order of The Halfstaff

My name is Eobert Braegat. There's an apostate loose in Ansburg, and he's taken hostages. Templars have died at this man's hands, and if I'm not careful, I could join them. But I come from...unusual circumstances. Circumstances that intersect in just the right way to maybe, just maybe, give me an advantage against this blood mage. One thing's for sure: long story short, I will not be what he expects.

Sense of Snow:

Elenya had been taken from her home to live in the Tower of Magi when she was no more than five years old. She remembers almost nothing of her time before the Tower, save for her mother’s face.

Now recruited to join the Grey Wardens, Elenya finds the journey across Ferelden to Vigil’s Keep to be one filled with wonders—amazing sights that she had only read about in books. One late winter’s night she awakens to find the landscape transformed, and perhaps her view of the world transformed as well.

 "Unbroken"

Excerpt:

She would help these people, but not to fulfill anyone's will but her own. The question of what made slavers evil and strangers worth protecting in a world without a Maker–a world where there seemed to be no objective morality, just each individual's conception of it–could wait until tomorrow, if she lived to see it. Paige was alive and free to choose what she did with her life, and did not need her choice to have eternal significance in order to find meaning in it. Sometimes a thing was worth doing in and of itself.

Get That Duck!

Before the Blight, in a somewhat peaceful alliance between mages and templars. Three young mages grow up with a strange and unorthodox nemesis. They fight a battle that few, if no one, accept. Every time they hear the quacking from the lake, they spiral deeper into trouble and unfortune. In the end they might just be the players in a comedy set by the Maker.

灰と雨 – Ashes and Rain

Vill knows nothing of freedom, only that it's not her thing.
Safety is what she craves instead, as well as a place to call "home".

But as flames claim the Starkhaven Circle of Magi, Vill's little world is shaken to the ground.
Paralized by her fear, Vill gets dragged along when Grace tells her to head for "away" and become an Apostate.

Between ashes and rain, the young mage pays the price for the freedom she never wanted.

________

I hope I'm not too late, but according to timezones, everything's still fine
First I wanted to do a Maleficar, then a Templar's reaction to blood magic and now I ended up with a pro-Circle mage instead. Figures.

Title is inspired by a song by D'espairs Ray, hence the Kanji :P

Blessed are the Pure in Spirit

...for theirs is the glory of the Maker.  Tomas had never expected to learn the meaning of those words first-hand.  Not like this.  He had been taught that it meant hope for those who suffered and toiled for what was just and true.  He doubted anyone expected the Maker to have His own interpretation.

 Purpose

Found you! The rose bush at the end of the courtyard had been her favourite hiding spot. He would find her, easily,
time and time again. It was not until the autumn of their youth that their mischief was halted, their powers channelled, their purpose under the Maker served.

Holy be thy soul

Five years has passed since the battle of Denerim. Five years of
uprisings, darkspawn stragglers and bloody famine. Just as it seams as
young king Alistair sits steady on his throne a parish in the east of
Ferelden goes quiet. A small Templar task-force, lead by Templar-Lieutenant
Veras, a woman both feard and admired even within the order itself, is
sent to investigate. What appears to be a common raid unfolds into
something much more. Something, that if left alone, could threaten the
Divine herself.

Woohoo! Done.

Into The Woods I Go: an abstract-

"            Gory, but glorious.

“Did you
hear what happened to Ser Morris?” they’d say.
“Oh it was dreadful!
So young, too young!”
“Oh it was awful! Brutally killed by a
powerful maleficar!”

“Oh it was horrible! Apparently all that was
left was a sticky red mess!
“Oh it was dreadful! It was awful! It was
horribly horrific! So bloodcurdling were his cries
that anyone who heard them
instantly bled from the ears, deafened for life and unable to
ever again be
happy!”

There’s always honour
to be found from death in combat.                 "

Cause and Effect

No one is ever prepared for war, but what about survival? Before the Revolution Beren lived a quiet life-Uldred's betrayal notwithstanding-in Kinloch Hold with the rest of his brethren. After the Revolution, however, they are forced to flee if they do not want to die at the hands of their former jailers. When circumstances are dire and chances for survival seem slim he thinks back on his life and realizes that it's all merely the work of cause and effect.

Title:  Vagary

"We have to get out of here."  Ezra cradled Lara's sobbing form in his arms.  The flayed and desecrated Knight-Lieutenant lay in a pool of blood in front of them, and it was all Ezra could do not to look at it.  The man had deserved his fate, but he needed to concentrate on getting his friend help.

"Kill me," she whispered.

"What?!" he cried, astounded.

"Kill me.  I'm not--"

"No," he cut her off.  "We're going to get out of here and go somwhere safe."

"Safety, for a mage, is a fallacy."

I wrote a short story in the perspective of templar that I named Ceeric, the one that Duncan and his mentor came across in his youth in the woods that hunted an apostate. The first time he'd ever seen blood magic.

My story is about a Mage going through the harrowing during their stay in Ferelden's Magi tower during the blight.

'The chantry is quiet when I enter, no one praying to their solemn God. I kneel by the candles; they flicker slightly as the fire senses my anger. Silence is eerie, that’s what the maker is; silent. He doesn’t care about us, why would he give us this gift. It is a curse upon us; we are just killing targets for the Templers'

Rion Wulfrick is one of the biggest templars in the Order, but he's a pushover and frequently being given others' work, without the Knight-Commander's approval. He daydreams and nightdreams often, usually due to lack of sleep, and despite his scary face, he has a family that he is always missing. It's just another day night in the life.
