Ummmm I feel like I should say something more but I think the story speaks for itself at least I hope it does since I've slightly negletcted my Dissertation for it. So, yeah here's me synopsis (I didn't include an extract because I felt writing a seperate synopsis did it more justice).

Unbroken - Synopsis

Events in Kirkwall have ignited war across the surface of Thedas. The flames have
spilled outward, burning Mage and Templar alike, fuelled by centuries of
suspicion, misunderstanding and old hatreds.

Knight Lieutenant Gerard Burclaw of the Templar order of Ferelden had always
considered himself a man of conscience and honour with a noble calling. However
like so many other things in the war between Mage and Templar this self-belief
has been irreparably damaged. When he awakes bound and blindfolded he assumes
that he is to be interrogated and executed by, the now militant, Magi. Is he to
be another good man wasted to the pages of history by this bloody conflict? Or,
is the truth all together more insidious?

Good luck everyone.

Freedom

For as long as I could remember, there was Valencia. Valencia, the rebellious whirlwind child, the fire-starter, all bare feet and glossy locks, with her childish arms around my neck and "brother" whispered in fear or elation.

My Valencia. My love. I will keep you safe. I will.

No matter the cost.

Good luck, everyone!

Late submission is late. Sigh.

Ahh, long-time lurker, first-time poster! Here's some of my Templar-themed story.

"It is always to the chant that I return. In times of hardship, these words soothe my soul, a spiritual sigh of abatement.

All men are the Work of our Maker's Hands,
From the lowest slaves
To the highest kings.

They are still people, I remind myself. They are still the Maker's children, as we all are."

I Once Was Lost, But Now Am Found

Ser Irminric, after being freed from Arl Howe's dungeons by the Warden, renounces his vows to the Chantry and is posted as the Captain of the Guard in Denerim, thanks to his sister’s influence as the Bann of Waking Sea. Through his journal, he relates his interrogation of the blacksmith, Wade, who has been arrested for the murder of his longtime partner Herren. What comes next is a tale of rage, lyrium addiction, and demonic influence, involving several cameos from the colorful folk of Denerim (and beyond).

The idea for this story was Herren and Wade’s appearance in the Darkspawn Chronicles. I also wanted to focus on a templar, and of the list of templars I was looking at, Irminric seemed the most interested to me, and I wondered what might happen to him after being freed by the Warden.

 Dragon Age: Death Wish

A fallen man has nothing to hope for.
Alone against death and sorrow he knows no regret and compassion, his life is at his hands.
What to do with it is unclear.
But some man have their sole instead.
Corrupted or clean, a soul wages a lot in the time of falling.
How to fall, is just another question...

I went with the story of a mage, named Raznin. A mage who despite growing up in the circle, didn't know much of his own magic abilities. Didn't know much of his family, but he was about to learn a very dark secret about it. He didn't have much of a life to begin with. But after his death his life would begin a new. Even if that life would obviously be fraut with peril.

My story is called 'Andraste's Love'. It's set within the Circle Tower and follows Syrene, an apprentice Mage, on the morning of her Harrowing. As she considers her future as either a full Circle Mage or perhaps as a Tranquil, she is reminded of memories of her past and how she was brought to the tower.

"Dreams become nightmares. But waking can be almost as bad."

The sounds of my plated armor echoed throughout the hall and their whispers stopped. As I turned the corner a young male Mage shot straight up, letting go of the girl who he had been holding intimately. His eyes widened in fear as he had trouble swallowing, his jaw tightening. The girls eyes shunned downward as she adjusted her robes, her arms closing in around her as if she could hide in plain sight. There was no telling how long the two had been tucked away in the dark corner, but the silence that now filled the area spoke volumes of the Templar's disapproval.

Here's a part, since I can't think of a good summary.

"I still can't get this newest escape out of my mind. This makes two who found life in the Circle unbearable enough to run or even resort to the forbidden. And there are others who, while not resorting to such drastic measures, voice their objections either in whispers or shouts.

"We're here to protect them, to give them a chance to live.

"... and yet ..."

It's from the POV of a templar before and during the events of the "Broken Circle" quest. Not much else to say...

"The girl who was not Bianca stiffly lounged on the rooftop, listening to the "drip, drip, drip" of falling blood..."

Blind is the story of a hunger demon and the young mage she inhabits, as well as the death and cruelty caused by the demons inside us sometimes released by our good intentions.

Thanks for the opportunity to write, Bioware :)

Title: A Mage’s Last Run
Abstract: They are bigger than me, stronger than me, faster than me. I will never beat them to the Wounded Coast; they will cut me down before my feet can even reach the sand. There is only one path left to me, but it is not a hope. At the end of the path, my life will no longer be my own to save; my fate will be decided by another.

Late entry is late!

Title: Defied
Abstract: “Times are changing, Moira. I can feel it in my bones. We're not going to be locked away forever,” he whispers, and at first I think he's talking of the mages. That mages won't be locked away in stone walls and cursed for being gifted by the Maker. But then I feel his gaze on my face, and I know I'm wrong.

He's not talking about the mages.

He's talking about us.

hungry and in the midst of vicious lyrium withdrawls, Bryant must confront his
sorrow, his faith, and most of all, his actions.

The Betrayal of Perception

Thom is the Knight-Captain of the Circle of Magi in Tantervale. He is highly acclaimed as the most perceptive Templar in the city, and his judgment is greatly trusted by all, not least by the Knight-Commander in charge. When a group of apostates is brought to the Circle, Thom is called on to decide their fate, a choice he has been forced to make many times, and he has never been known to be wrong.

My story mainly deals with the perspective of Knight-Captain Thom and how he percieves his position and duty to the Circle of Tantervale following the events in Kirkwall. The story focuses greatly on how he measures others and how the decisions he makes affect others.

 Still Alive:

Misplaced by Templars, found by bandits, menaced by darkspawn. Petra's excursion to the
Koerci Wilds turned out to be a lot more than the young mage bargained for.
Caught in the middle of a Blight, the student of ancient history can do little
but try to survive history in the making.

Title: Stained Glass
Synopsis: The tower has stained glass windows that does not let in much natural light. They are placed so far up that she cannot look outside, and she wonders if they have built it so in the hopes that if she cannot see the outside world, she will forget about it and let all dreams of a life outside the tower go. She traces secret patterns on the stone walls and paints pictures of memories on the back of her eyelids. She creates a tiny winter in the palm of her hand, and carry an unknown longing within her heart. The thought that there is no way out is a heavy one.
