Leash

Mages aren´t the only ones who like to play with things they shouldn’t.
Siril was the result of such a game. The Templars brought her to the tower
young, pliable, they said. They trained her to be a mage-hunter. To resist either
faction and to prey on her own kind. Trained a little girl to be another
instrument.

And they were successful in their training. But not in their
indoctrination...

Siril can[/i] be controlled by a
handler, holding her phylactery.

He is her leash.

And in the chaos of the crumbling tower she will shatter him.

Freedom awaits.

The Girl and the Flame

The night was cold and dark, the streets empty and silent, all except for one girl. To the normal eye, this girl was a poor soul who looked starved, frozen and near death, and that she was, but she was also a mage. A mage who had been on the run for weeks now, a mage who had left behind a burning Circle, her home, a mage who had been caught in the middle of a war. A war that would soon see the land change and she saw it begin.

I plan to write a story involving a mage who has been shuttled around through various owners (the Circle, the Qunari, a Tevinde Magister . . .) before finally deciding to break free in the only way left to her.

-------

Cool, now that I've actually done some work on this, I can post a more useful abstract:

Cieri's Freedom

Cieri is a young human mage who has, over the past year, experienced just about every kind of life there is for a mage in Thedas, and learned a few things about the nature of slavery and freedom.  She's been a circle mage, an apostate, a saarebas, and apprentice to a magister.  Now she has to decide whether she wants to give real freedom a try.

Liberation

Eldric wondered why they haven’t made an attempt to flee. He had been on guard ever since their capture. Only two days ago did they find the two apostates and Sybylle covered in the aftermath of a bloody battle. His blood boiled when he thought of his fallen comrades. He would ensure that the apostates would pay for their crimes.

A Canary in a Cage

A seasoned father responds to a letter from his son concerning his time in the Circle. He mentions a friend that was considered a prince among mages, one that gave them hope against the oppressive conditions imposed by the templars. If it had not been for this extraordinary mage the father would have become a slave to tyranny.

Choose

All Abel wanted was to live his life, to not be caught up in the politics and strife of mages and Templars. But when the Templars finally caught up with him in the Free Marches he no longer had that luxury. Thrown in with other prisoners, Abel finally had to choose: fight for his freedom or let others fight for him.

Story title: All the same

“You don’t know what it’s like to be too weak to undergo the Harrowing. To know that everything is going to be taken away from you. Your feelings, your dreams, everything that makes you human.”
The Knight-Commander snorted, then moved closer to her.
“You aren’t human,” he said calmly. “You are a mage, a weak one at that. Sooner or later you will use blood magic.”
The young woman opened her mouth to say something, then closed it again.
Gregorius took one step away from her.
“Execute her,” he ordered.

Dragon age: Templars wish

My journey to Antiva, ah that brings back memories, it was an adventure of beytral, love, and mystery, ok maybe not so much the Mystery but damn there were plenty of women.
My tale starts with a Templar manly my self, yes I am a... very important subject, just as my superiors, anyway I met this mage Filas Grey, she was a wild one.
I tell you now, never ever trust a mage that can out drink you, you will end up with ye, pants off and your belonging's half way to Ferelden.

An Old Shaky Letter
Cold...so cold...no food, water, no fresh air... just smell of blood and tears. Others would say "At least you're alive!"...this is no life...this is no death...it's worse. An elf mage in a templar prison...Meredith's prison. [..]And, above all, I escaped because of a misunderstanding.
This is the story of Rhenaya, a Kirkwall elf mage, who was unfortunate enough to collide with an event concerning Templars, even though she wasn't part of it... These are her last words, the words of a misunderstood mage who witnessed the start of something grand and didn't even know it...

The Best Mirror is an Old Friend

Cairn shuffled his pack off his shoulders.  It felt good to have the heavy thing off his back after a month of carrying what weighed roughly the same as an adult mabari had taken its toll on him.  He rolled his shoulders, wincing as they creaked, popped, and ached; he cast a furtive glance at the wall, gaging whether or not there was anyone in the room adjacent as he reached over his shoulders and let the barest hint of healing magic seep into the abused muscles there.  He sincerely hoped his letter had already arrived. Susceptible: A Templar's First Song

The winds in Ferelden are harsh around this time of year.
They blow in from the south and shimmer across Lake Calenhad, freezing anything that dares to stand in their way, leaving a trail of miserable coldness in their wake. The Circle Tower in Ferelden just happens to be one of those obstacles, and Maker, does it take a hit....
Judas watches out the barred window in the tower, watching the gently churning waves of the lake as they endure the wrath of the skin-biting winds... (ellipse for abstract purposes)... In truth, when Judas took his vows as a templar, he discovered that being a templar was no less imprisoning than being a mage (...) He pauses by the doorway when hears a voice....He recognizes this mage, the color of the robes she wears (...) He does not know her first name, only her last-- Amell.

Some Brainstorming notes, I suppose. the full story is so much better <3

Note- The story is a little excerpt from a third point view of a templar named Judas and a short encounter with A Amell, not precisely my Amell, but this goes under discretion that the Amell is female and that the human mage became "The Warden"

 Not All Mages

This is the story of how a Blood Mage from Rivain and trained in archery, became friends with a nameless Kossith, trained in the abilities of a Templar. Together, they shared a goal. To prove that not all mages are monsters, and are as human as anyone else.  They seek to accomplish this by hunting down mages who abuse their powers and create fear, but they find out. The people they thought deserved to die, may not be the monsters they thought they are as they find out that there is more to every story, and more to every death then they thought.

The Voice.
An Entity target a young mage after a horrific incident in the circle of magi.

She states that:
" comes into play when the circumstances are dire" when "things are not going well or at least there’s considerable uncertainty about how things will turn out".
"it literally opens us up...and removes the blinders of fear and despair and allows us to see the big picture ,
thus allowing us to become creative" and have "belief in a better future".

Title: A Harrowing

Ferelden is different.

While the Free Marches plunge into turmoil following the incidents in Starkhaven and Kirkwall and Orlais tears itself apart in the frenzy of a civil war; Ferelden stands firm and united. The tribulations of the recent Blight have given way to a sense of solidarity among all races and classes, even, to an extent, among mages and templars, which has been further encouraged by the new monarchs.

However, some things still hold true and the Harrowing remains a turning point for mages. In Kinloch Hold the fateful day has arrived for Cormac and Niamh.

Emile de Launcet's Big Adventure
"I know of ze forbidden magiques," Emile de Launcet said in his affected Orlesian accent while trying to twirl a very sparse mustache. It was the latest of a long series of failed pick-up lines.

My tale is about Aeron, a quiet, well-behaved mage from the Kirkwall Circle who has never given anyone any cause for worry. When she begins to have visions of destruction and chaos, her world suddenly turns upside down.

A short excerpt:

Suddenly Aeron looked up into the sky and a transformation came over her face. Hilda stopped dead as she looked at her friend, aware that something had changed in her countenance, a fearful, ominous change that frightened her in a way she couldn’t describe.
“Aeron?”
“Aeron?” she repeated.
“AERON! Snap out of it!” she yelled.
Aeron’s eyes had glazed over and gone suddenly dark, her body shaking as if suddenly chilled by a great cold. When Hilda touched her Aeron’s skin felt icy as death and the air of fright that permeated from her body terrified Hilda to her very soul; something was very wrong with her friend.

Thanks for reading.

Eyes on Me

There are many observers here at the Circle.  Most of them seem harmless enough.  Many are distant, aloof.  Some appear almost benevolent - kind, protective, compassionate, quick to intervene when trouble arises.  With others, the malevolence is unmistakable.  There is a cruelty, an evilness that emanates so thickly that even the most naïve child would not be fooled. These, strangely enough, are the safest. It's easy to avoid the obvious trap.  More perilous are the ones you can't see.  The ones you suspect but aren't entirely sure about.

My watcher is one of these.

Unknown Title
Quick overview ( I have changed my storyline twice already and I really don't want to change it again....hope)

The Circle of Kirkwall destroyed. The chantry in ruins. Chaos everywhere. Many took anger upon the mages for starting this turmoil. But some blame the Order of Templars for driving the Circle to its utmost boundaries. Conflict brew like a storm, soon raging into a tempest. Then the inevitable happened. War. Then it escalates. Each made its own efforts to destroy the other. Blood magic practition appeared everywhere. Mysterious murders sprout like mushrooms after the rain. Citizens were interrogated and tortured for confessions of harboring mages. Neighbors and friends grew suspicious of each other. High ranking members of society assassinated. This is a time of madness. Each faction tries to tear each other apart while people suffer and tormented. Our story, however, is small and it follows the path of Templar Hunter, an elite force of Templars, named Ameila who is escorting an apostate mage Valerus to execution. Their journey stopped at the rebuilt city of Amaranthine but the night is dark and full of terrors........

Sounds and Silence
Author: Miri1984
Words: 1762

A templar must watch over all aspects of mage life — and must be trained to deal with every eventuality. Some believe their duty is to care and protect, others believe it is to watch and wait. Yet however any one templar might define her duty, the order dictates that a mage is always unknown. Always.

Dragon Age: Rise of the Arcane

Long ago the ancient elves harbored mages that were not only feared for their magical arts but also in martial prowess.

Now a young elf under the mentorship of a magister in Tevinter has received a mysterious book that only he can read. With the world outside of the Tevinter Imperium in chaos, does that affect the once great empire as a whole? Or does it just affect individuals…and if so…then WHO?

Is it alright if my synopsis posted on here is a different from the one I sent in with my story? I sent in my story before I saw that the Synopsis' needed to be posted here.

MyAshes2Ashes

Running Away
"Elissa lost the love of her life when she made Alistair King. She is having a hard time dealing with everything that has happened and all she has lost when Zevran comes and gives her some unexpected comfort. With his help, and maybe a little help from the Maker, she just might be able to move on with her life."

I apologize for the not-so-amazing synopsis, they are not my strong point. I hope you reading out there enjoy it. :) Doesn't matter if it wins anything, It's a pretty good feeling to enter something.
