Well, I don't really have a title. I think I might have been trying to be clever... Key word 'trying'.
----------
-From We Can’t All Be Heroes and Champions Now Can We?, by Templar Iollan, memoirs from 9:24 – 49 Dragon.
"My third year being a full Templar and the first time I had been sent off alone to escort a mage. Not that it had seemed impressive at the time, as he was the most docile man I have ever encountered. We were unimportant in whatever grand scheme the Fereldan Circle had going, and so it was not an issue to send us to investigate strange reports from a village far to the south.
It took me weeks to figure out the route to travel because the village wasn’t even on a sodding map. I still don’t think it is."
---------
From the first paragraph, obviously edited to a more manageable length.
So good luck everyone!
Edit for strange autoformatting.

The Mask Behind the Face
Sergio Careta, a long-time templar in Antiva City, is on the trail of a lyrium buyer, but dirty politics, carnival season, and decades of lyrium use make distinguishing reality from fantasy difficult.
Update: Finished with word count of 2,495.

Duty
A Templar's duty is grim, bloody, and absolutely necessary. Ser Millicent finds her will tested during a chase through the Wilds, as the chaos sparked by Kirkwall's rebellion spreads throughout Thedas. Love in a time of disorder is always fraught with danger, as responsibility collides with conscience and the inexorable movement of history. Caught between faith, passion and politics, Emmeline must decide if a few are worth sacrificing for the stability of her entire world.

The Mage's Face
When Ser Galen's brother was taken to the Circle, he followed, pledging himself to the Templar Order and devoting his life to watching his brother's back. It has grown more difficult in the wake of the upheaval in Kirkwall, with renewed distrust widening the gap between Templar and mage. When he uncovers a plot to subject his brother to the Rite of Tranquility, Galen finds himself torn between blood and duty, with tragic consequences.

I believe this to be within the contest's parameters. It is within the DA lore, even if I took some liberties interpreting the Right of Annulment. The codex entry is vague enough and the way characters have referred to it seemed to suggest there was more to it. Without further ado, here's my synopsis.
* * * * *
The Right
In the 84th year of the Glory Age, Divine Galatea granted all the grand clerics of the Chantry the power to purge a Circle entirely should they deem it irredeemable. This power would comprise the most skilled warriors of the Templar Order, and they would become known as "The Right of Annulment."
This is one of their stories.
* * * * *
I will be submitting my entry in a few days' time.
EDIT: Abstract updated 07/01/2012.

Sympathy
The templars took him, so she decided she would join them to take him back. Then the lyrium got in the way, eating her from the inside out, destroying everything.

Title: An Invincible Summer
Summary: Poor Halvdan. Kicked out of the Ostwick Circle for being too kind-hearted around mages, he gets banished to the smallest out of the way village that happens to have a Chantry. Then he's called upon to chase down an apostate. Too bad it's that girl he really took a shine to at the harvest festival last night.

Title : Questionable Relations
Author: Ranorm
Word count: 2250
Abstract:
'He was also a good friend, one that Emmaline cherished more than any other - but that friendship was also why she was alone. Mages and templars shouldn’t be friends. That’s what everyone told her, she should just have friends within the Order and keep the mages at a distance. That was easier said than done when all the other recruits had far more enthusiasm for the job than you did. And why shouldn’t mages and templars have cordial relations? Would it not improve things? Nothing made sense to her anymore.'

For my story, The Original Vice (tentative title).
The Golden City turned to Black
Each step taken, one evident crack
Cast into endless darkness
The magisters became thoughtless
Damnation by Aspiration
No punishment would suffice
Usurpation then inspired Creation;
Never anything less for the Original Vice
It is the start of the world's eternal damnation; the first Blight.

Sword of the Maker
"The knights of the Templar Order have taken on a holy
burden, a righteous duty. They are they Maker’s lance, and the shield of
Andraste His bride. They know neither fear nor doubt. To the faithful, they are
stalwart sentinels, resplendent in gleaming armor. To their enemies, they are
the Maker’s own vengeance. And they are relentless."
Luck be to all entrants.

Title: Delirium
Author: JRain
Word Count: 2500
Abstract: Delirium: Noun; a disorder of the mental faculties; a state of violent excitement or emotion. A life of harsh decisions and even harsher realities can harden a person; but add in the siren song of lyrium and even the best templar may make the worst decisions, regardless of intent. Delirium follows Ser William, who has recently taken his vows, and examines the physical and psychological effects of his burgeoning lyrium dependence… and just how his need for a fix shapes who he is and what he believes about his role in the Circle.

Title: Blood of the Tranquil
Author: wangxiuming
Word Count: 2494
Abstract: In the tumult of a city on the brink of war, an apprentice desperately tries to escape Tranquility.
Excerpt:
They say Tranquility is something to be feared.
The irony is that once you are made Tranquil, fear is no more than a fading shadow.
The Templars came for me as the sun fell. Four warriors for one apprentice. They found me in my room, a dagger in one hand and blood pouring from my wrist. Perhaps they thought I was experimenting with blood magic. All I wanted was to rob them of their Rite.

Separation
Word Count: 2475
It was definitely the Fade they'd been transported to. The farm they'd awoken on looked real, but
there was no sun. The world was draped in sickly yellow light and mist. The
Black City could be seen in the distance, never getting any closer. Both the
Warden Commander and the Champion on Kirkwall looked at each other and nodded.
They'd come to free their friend from the spirit who had nearly taken complete control of him.
Sent in! The title is linked to the story if anyone is interested in reading it.

Title: Forgotten
Synopsis: Every minute spent down in the cells seeped into the mind, their poison echoing through his thoughts as loudly as the natural sounds of the tower slithered through the darkness. He had no idea how long he'd been there, or how long it would be before someone came for him.
Notes: This entry was inspired by the circumstances of one of the characters in Asunder, though it prompted me to consider similar circumstances from the point of view of another.

Hello fellow wanders of Thedas.
My story is called From Mage to Apostate. Dar'Misu is a young mage apprentice living comfortably in Circle Tower. His life is turned upside down and he is forced to flee or face the Rite of Tranquillity. Freedom is the hope and dream of every mage, but what will it cost?

Title: A Tragedy of Comedies
Word Count: 2243
Author: Firewolf99 (...oh, yeah, you can see that)
Segment:
“What in the name of the Maker is going on?”
Everyone in the courtyard froze as the Knight Commander strode forward. Several more Templers moved around from behind her, forming a semi circle. At the centre, sitting in a pool of blood, holding a dead goat and wearing a demonic, red robe...
Was me.
“Oh ****.”

Descent
Thedas teeters on the brink of war. This time, however, it is not at the hands of an archdemon and its legions of darkspawn; nor is it due to the conflicts of rival countries. This war will be borne of centuries of distrust and malcontent between two of the oldest of foundations—the Circle and the Chantry.
As champions and villains rise, however, there will be those stories that fall into obscurity, if they are discovered at all. Many lives will be caught in the conflicts to come—and this is but one of them

Count to Five
He was a sword. His mind and body hardened with discipline, he found and used the shadows. He controlled the field of battle as completely as he controlled himself. An instrument of justice, his one conceit that death came so quickly that his target never felt pain. Today would be no different. Today the price for betrayal would be paid.
