What Cerebus needs is its equivalent among the other races...I don't mean, "a Cerebus for the aliens" but a cerebus style organization for the turians, salarians etc.

For example, how about that asari mother we meet in Illium decides to start  an "only asari should be in space" - (I like the fact that in her grief she didn't focus on JUST humans but frankly, ALL "aliens").

Similarly, how about Facinus actually gets smart and not just bomb its own people for no discernible reason?

The problem I think for cerebus in the eyes of many is that it is a pro-human group in an universe where frankly, there's pretty much no anti-human bias...frankly, it makes them look like dicks who are shouting "humans on top" when none of the other alien races are saying "humans on bottom"

Well, batarians are doing just that, or did you mean council races exclusively?

Yeah, but like you said, extend it to the other council races...For the Batarians, though, we do need to see another facet of their government since right now, the only thing we got is "north korea" in space....

Perhaps they already do but unlike humans, don't go around flashing just how much they hate aliens and want to dominate the galaxy after they bombard everyone.

Then they need competent leaders and not some idiots who are just throwing money at a problem until it disappears.

But that's worked so well for Western civilization...

I thought this was gonna be about how Ceberus can accomplish their goal of human dominance.

Well, technicly there already are similar groups..

STG, Specter and others...we seen the other races involved in very shady and immoral things for the good of their races... and implied to be involved in more.

Of course, I bet half of it will be retconned in ME3.

To be folded into the SAN's command structure. Like they were in the first Mass Effect.

Cerberus needs... *PARAGON HUGS*

----

Or, on a "serious" note - if "SAN" is the Alliance... then yes, on a story level - Cerberus should only be a cog in the machine.

I honestly don't know what's worse - you insane Cerberus bootlickers who have wet dreams about riding TIM's meatstick while he burns down the galaxy around you, or the darkside kiddies in TOR who thinks it's supercool to be evil and kill people to the right and left just because it gives them a f***ed up visual appearance and allows them to use red lightsaber crystals.

Salarians have something like cerberus. Also minor races like Volus and those jellyfishes!

Easy, Cerberus bootlickers.

Those kiddies are doing cause they think it's funny, not because Dark Force and Empire is right.

*chuckles*

I'd say the one that watches the Jedi vs Sith trailer over and over and loudly quotes the opening narration.

There was Saren and look how that turned out. To give the guy credit, he did do it by himself with less resources than Tim, and almost succeeded. Though there was that whole catch about the souping of galactic life...

What's difficult to believe for me isn't that the Salarians don't have a Cerberus, but that the Alliance doesn't have an STG.

There is anti-human bias, it just takes the form of mooks like Joram Talid rather than terrorist cells. When we see any alien supremacy amongst the races of Citadel space, it is expressed by individuals, and these individuals are not banded together into a larger group that intends to advance its race's interests through hostile force.

Dunno, I find you pretty bad because you don't stop whining about us.

I bet there are, but Mac Walters's obsession with Cerberus means that any pro-[insert species here] rogue groups have not been explored in any of the Mass Effect media.

I can imagine that Cerberus needs that. I just don't think the galaxy needs it.

I thought the OP was speaking from a storytelling perspective, not an in-universe perspective. From a storytelling perspective, I agree.

Indeed.  And some of those individuals are important.

Well yes, I'm talking from a storytelling perspective...

In-universe, hell no.

I mean, in-universe, it is mentioned that the salarians have actually forged closer ties with the Turians so they basically have a mutual-defense pact. Why the hell would the salarians need one with the Turians unless they were worried about the asari?

Sure, they're the smallest of the big 3 council races, but they still should easily be larger than the alliance in terms of their economy given that the alliance is noted as having an economy slightly smaller than the elcor...
