I get everything totally installed and updated all the way through. Menu screens load great, and I can do everything up through creating my character. After that, no matter what I'm doing, be it Module or the Campaign, the character won't load into the game. It just sits. I've tried running n compatability with  XP service pack 3, and it's not working, even running as an administrator. I uninstalled and reinstalled, getting an error_dx_install string notification. I tried the game before updating and it worked, bit slow and choppy. It stops working after the expansions and updates go through. Is there a fix for this at all? Any help would be amazing.

Sorry.

OS: Windows 7 64-bit
Processor: ATD Phenom™ II X4 830 2.8 GHz
RAM: 6GB
Hard Drive: 1TB
Graphics Card: ATI Radein HD 4200

That's about all I know how to find. Hope that helps.

An actual, real graphics card, not a mere onboard video chip, is a requirement.

(Release date 10-31-2006)

My own amended NWN2 Requirements

Minimum System Requirements:
- Windows XP
- 512MB System RAM
- Pentium 4 2.6 GHz or Athlon XP 2200 or equivalent
- 128MB Direct3D compatible video card with DirectX 9.0c compatible driver
(GeForce 6800 or Radeon 9800 Pro graphics card with SM 2.0 or better)
- CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive
- 4.6GB free hard disk space
- DirectX 9.0c (included)
- DirectX 8.1 compatible sound card
- Microsoft .NET 2.0 Framework for toolset (included)
- Broadband connection for multiplayer online play
- Keyboard, Mouse

Your HD 4200 is way below minimum and it has Zero VRAM of its own

In some respects, the game's requirements were relatively demanding for five years ago. That does mean you can't get away with the cheapest card you can find, which will still be below minimum and while it may "stroll" or "walk" in the game, you will prefer to have the animations go at a nice, smooth speed, instead.

Get a card that has actually been designed to play games with, even if it's no longer so very new, perhaps (HD 5670 Radeon, GTS 450 Geforce as two examples, although the latter demands too much amperage for a stock readymade desktop PC's power supply).

That one is only $70, although I didn't keep looking at Newegg after it turned up.  It's a good brand at what looked to me to be a good price.
