That's a very nice piece. Looks like it could be a bit more of a stylized version of the game.

One of my favorite characters from the Mass Effect universe is Garrus. I also really love classic sci-fi films, and I realized that "turianator" sounds like "terminator," so I created a tribute to both.

I paraphrased the blurb from the poster and threw in credits from the first game to make it look more like a film poster.

Man, that is totally impressive. How long was the total time on that? You have some pretty impressive skill for such limited image shopping software as that in-game paint job editor . I haven't gotten Forza 4 yet, but seeing the depth of detail in the livery editor makes me think I might need a newer race game than Blur!

Always. Just repairing the heat sinks in the propulsion system - The diffusers overloaded when I rerouted the heat flow. It works on quarian ships. Well, long story, but I think I can steal a moment with you.

SHEPARD:
I wanted to thank you for your photo. It’s beautiful. I’m impressed you found time to pose for it.

TALI:
I didn’t. Those pictures are extremely popular among the flotilla, but because of the sterile environment we rarely get a chance to sit for portraits.

SHEPARD:
Oh, I just assumed…

TALI:
Most quarians are reluctant to remove their helmets even in clean rooms, and it’s especially difficult if someone else is present. A digital artist put that together for me using my suits biometric data and epidermal sensor logs.

SHEPARD:
Really? He does good work.

TALI:
It’s not bad. I’m not crazy about the lens-flare, and I don’t think he got my hand quite right.

SHEPARD:
Maybe he was rushed. You did say the portraits were popular.

TALI:
True. It was a last minute decision. But, this was important. I wanted to give you something special.

SHEPARD:
I did get something special, Tali. I got you.

TALI:
(Laughs) And just like that the magic is gone.

SHEPARD:
I need more practice sweet-talking, don’t I?

TALI:
We can work on it. That, and your dancing…

Normally I do my own 3D modelling in Maya, but occasionally I like to do stupid things. I downloaded Garry's Mod the other day just to have some fun with it, and this is my first attempt at playing around with existing assets. I'll grab actual Mass Effect environment assets over the weekend to make a more Mass Effect-y scenario, but for now you'll have to excuse the Half-Life 2 backdrop. I'm also an environment modeler so I'm not very good at character posing, obviously. =P

In case people still... read... this.

Fan submissions mean writing too right? Right okay. Awesome. Anyway, so, I decided to do a series of shorts that take place the day before the Normandy's maiden voyage, see how each crew-member spends their last twenty-four hours before their lives change... a lot. I took a few liberties:

1) The Normandy departs from the Citadel. I figured since the ship is of joint human/turian design, the Citadel would be the perfect place to have it built. It's like the Geneva of space.

2) Joker/Chakwas have known each other pre-Normandy. The basis of my thinking is that even though in ME2, Chakwas says to Shepard that the reason she joined Cerberus was truthfully because Joker would always need someone to take care of him, I went ahead and interpreted that as vague enough to suggest: "I'll follow Joker, EVEN if it's to Cerberus because he'll always need me."

3) Everything I basically write. What I'm writing is pretty much not found anywhere on the Internet that I've researched, and takes place before the beginning of the first game, albeit really close to the beginning. So to my knowledge, I'm coming up with this stuff, though it's possible these back stories have already been thought up. I dunno, just saying.
