That reason is called the British Empire.

Because in Hungary there are some rumors about the localisation. Some says 'they'll add Hungarian subtitles', but some says 'no, it won't come with Hungarian localisation'. But on last Saturday in Budapest GameShow a guy from the Mass Effect 3 stage said that: "Bioware officially told me, this game is not gonna localised." So that's why I created this topic in this forum.

So what I bet there's many people who still don't know english and will never have a chance to learn it. I understand that it isn't plausible that every different country get their "own" version of Mass Effect but is it really necessary to criticize someone because they want a localised version or whatever.

There's an ocean of difference between having an operational knowledge of English that enables you to communicate, read BSN forums and discuss simple topics, and being able to fully enjoy text with literary/artistic qualities.

Regardless, I don't believe a customer requesting subtitles in their first language warrants "Learn English FFS" comments.

In virtue of this statement, should we learn Chinese, because they're more powerful than Anglo-saxon countries?

Urhm, are you sure the there won't even be subtitles? That's hard to belive
There will be only english subtitles, well at least for czech market. It has been announced by our retailers. It was the same story with Dragon Age 2. Origins had czech subtitles, while DA2 had only english ones. Apparently our market isn´t profitable enough to warrant localization.

Damn that sucks. In Poland, they removed dubbing from ME3, but we'll still be getting subtitles. Guess EA is trying to cut down on developement costs everywhere. But I think removing even subtitles is 1 step too far, the sales will suffer from that.Aetika wrote...

Just be happy you speak a three gendered, verb aspect dominant language. I envy you.
