Not enough details; I feel like I'm being teased.

Now I'm even more impatient for March 6 to arrive. Only 75 days to go...

Pfft, 75 days? Remember when it was still an agonizing 224 days left? I do. Every day

Get help. While it is still possible.

That IS my therapy. Thinking back on how horrible and far away it was back then makes today feel rather comfortable and cosy. Meanwhile, the little BSN ants are running around screaming "74 DAYS! 74 DAYS LEFT AAAAAAAAGGGGHHHHHH HOW WILL I SURVIVE?!?!?!?!?!?" as if it is the end of the world.

I'm pretty much in the same boat.

Pfft. Everyone knows that Shepard's entire spare time is spent playing Skyrim. Dude is rocking an awesome Level 30 Orc Berserker.

Hmm, I think it's more down to the class of your Shepard: (P=Paragon, R=Renegade)
Soldier:      P= Imperial (more paragade)
R=Orc (where all the anger goes)
Vanguard: P= Nord (high risk)
R= Thalmor Altmer (likes to pick the winning side)
Adept:       P: High Elf (one that avoids the Dominion)
R: Dark Elf (mind games and trickery)
Sentinel:    P: Breton Mage (where all the biotics go)
                  R: Argonian (Invincibility)
Engineer:   P: Kaijjit (spelling?)
                  R:Dark Elf (why not?)
Infiltrator:   P:Wood Elf (sneaky sneaky)
                  R:Redguard (let him vent)

EDIT: OK admittedly off-topic but this thread needs a bit of that every once in a while.

If your idea of a comms specialist is a person who tells you when you have an email you are sadly mistaken. Kelly is basically a secretary not a comms specialist.

So..??? You’re proving my point. If there is a comm specialist telling Shepard when he has a message, she is taking on the role of Kelly, so there is no need for her, b/c that’s basically all she did in ME2. Unless she takes on another role

No, s/he's saying that Kelly was never a comm specialist in the first place. The most Kelly ever did pertaining to communications was telling you that you had mail; she was Shepard's personal assistant.

It's nice to see that, even in the face of galactic extinction, people still expect you to pay for your equipment. Greed always finds a way.

... I could evacuate more civililans from enemy territory. Honestly, though, all that will still be there after the next mission, and I’m really ready to check out that new shotgun mod.

Also, good to know that Shep got hir priorities straight. I wouldn't want any pressure while playing, but that delivery feels kinda... off.

Very awesome read. Finally something that is not about action but about the character side of things. All I ever wanted to hear/read/learn about.

"It's cheaper to buy direct."

Ah, a century in the future, the galaxy is burning down, billions are dying, but capitalism still lives on strong. Boy oh boy, if only Bill Gates could live to see that. He'd probably die of joy.

We are talking semantics here. Yeoman, personal assistant, secretary, call her what you will. Title aside, Kelly’s principal role, among other minors, in ME2 was to alert Shepard he had unread messages. The fact that role is now performed by a nameless comm specialist, makes me think that Kelly’s role in ME3 has been diminished, and unless she takes on a more important role, we might not see her in ME3, which makes me sad. That was the point I was trying to make in my first post.

Great blog, except for the "buying equipment" thing. It's a galactic war for survival and there's still a money-based economy? Seriously? And people are selling you stuff ON YOUR OWN SHIP? You, Commander Shepard, widely known as a Reaper killer?

Huh?

Of course there's still a money-based economy. Why would you expect that to vanish overnight? Also, there's a reason we have a term like "war profiteering".

I don't think a economic collapse is in any society's favor.

Not to mention that there are factions that aren't committed to the war yet, because their worlds have yet to be conquered by the Reapers.

They will hold on to their money tightly, because when the war is over, there's a chance that they might get the upper hand from a financial view.

Mmmh. Not really. I wouldn't talk about "money" here, because this isn't fourteenth-century Europe and credits aren't gold. (The Reapers, of course, being the Black Death, after David Herlihy: "men were dying, but coins were not".) We're not even sure how the Unified Banking Act actually works.

But it would be advantageous from the point of view of "our productive workers aren't getting harvested and killed".

In a galaxy with automization, however...

I'd watch more for the people with the supplies and credit to lend out for the reconstruction effort. Given how much the rebuilding bill is going to be, groups will be fighting tooth and nail for credit and investements... and the people best posed to extend that aid will get the most benefit from doing so.

A quart of wheat for a day's wages indeed.

Yeah, but for the most part, those organizations will probably be state actors, no?
