Sounds like the blackstar should actually hurt you and your teammates. I can just imagine "Garrus! Liara, Stand back!! Firing Blackstar!" *epic sounds while hiding behind cover*

Also, was anyone else super excited to read the SMG mods? I mean..increases rounds by 40% and by certain % no ammo was used AND reduces weight? Omg..sounds like adepts best friend to me.

Funny you should mention that.  The Blackstar and Blackstorm are both fairly contained.  I did fry Samara's shields with the Cain once.

I shot Grunt in the back of the head with the Cain at point blank range on Horizon once. The thing just bounced right off.

New weapons I think I might be in love with:

N7 Eagle (might be permanent, especially with what I'm reading)
AT-12 Raider (This has to be the AA-12. It *HAS* to be)
N7 Valkyrie
M99 Sabre
M-55 Argus
M-90 Indra.

Oh, and the weapon mods have different levels, similar to the ones in ME1.

You should post the mod portion of your findings over on the " Ammo powers as skills=ridiculous"  thread , you have a lot of ppl over there that are ticked about ammo powers not being mods , but I think see what you posted may relieve some pressure. . .

If you want or haven't checked this thread is keeping track of the powers of each class , not sure if there is anything new you have not seen

I'm so going to use the Talon with the taser and the Saber with the armor piercing mod.

i was thinking the same thing.

ive always loved ARs as a main, with a sidearm like the talon. but im kindof hesitant to want the talon becuase of how improved melee is going to be. i wont really need a close range gun when my adepts biotic face smash will cover that ground.

was thinking AR/sniper but i know we can mod up scopes on ARs so i dont really think ill need a sniper now either. ive seen an ME3 vid with the mattock upgraded with a scope, but the player never actually used the scope to zoom in. do you know if scopes will actually serve a function, or is that just a visual/internal upgrade? thanks again, for like the millionth time, SwM.

Sniper scope slowdown is going to be a weapon upgrade now. I like it because it opens up possibilities for engineer and sentinel. I wonder if they will be tweaking infiltrator to compensate for the loss of exclusivity. Or perhaps the devs thought the infiltrator had to too much going for it.

DAMN! they quadrupled the weapon count from ME2 :D

they also developed the power trees a lot more; so with the new (and old) weapons, plus the improved power tree, ME3 is gonna have a metric sh*t ton of customization and creative character builds. never been so excited for a freakin game ugghhh

Hey where's the Blackstorm in that heavy weapons list? I love my little black hole making cannon of terror and death. Please tell me it's still in.

Well, there's a new description for it.

The Blackstorm Gravitational Singularity Projector is the brainchild of weapon designer Eli Wegner, one of the few humans who earned the privilege of serving with asari commando units. Overawed with how the asari could create biotic singularities to pull opponents out from behind cover, he was determined to duplicate the feat technologically.
Wegner's team created a weapon that could elevate target particles of matter to near-infinite mass, creating a gravitational singularity and drawing nearby objects inward for a short time. The rapidly-increasing gravity rips the target apart as it pulls the enemy closer to the singularity's center. When the mass effect field destabilizes and suddenly returns to normal mass, the result is explosive, and inflicts additional trauma on the enemy.
The weapon almost didn't happen. Early designs were dangerously unstable: the science for creating a hyper-dense mass effect field was well established, but projecting it at an adjustable range proved elusive. It was only after six years of development that the weapon finally qualified for Systems Alliance AIHW (Advanced Individual Heavy Weapon) trials. By that time, the singularity projector was rugged, reliable, and easy to use and repair. It immediately went to field tests in a small-scale desert war on Earth where the weapon terrified opponents who had never seen its effects before. The swirling sand and dust sucking soldiers into its center served as the centerpiece of many propaganda videos. In the resulting media coverage, the Wegner Arms M-490 GSP became known by its simpler nickname, the "black hole gun." His dream finally a reality, Wegner personally altered its name to the more marketable "Blackstorm."

It's probably in there somewhere.

You'll have to pre-order at Gamestop and Wal-Mart to get any weapons and sacrifice your firstborn at the altar of Origin in order to acquire any in-game armor. Debatable about which is worse.

so the gun that shoots black holes is human tech, had to be. Only a human would look at a black hole and say what if we make an infantry level weapon that shoots these.
