If this doesn't become available as downloadable DLC at a decent cost later on, I will break something.

I think it should be a reward in one of the larger future DLCs.

Why? It's just a weapon, and you can upgrade weapons of your choosing that will probably be better than the exclusive weapons from a store.

IDK man, of all the preorder bonuses I've ever seen this has GOT to be the best. I caved in fast and had my preorder with gamestop for my 2nd CE within minutes after seeing it. Thanklfully the N7 SR is part of the CE so I don't have to worry about missing out on that.

I don't have to worry about it either. It does look pretty nice, and maybe it'll be my favourite, next to the Maddok assault rifle, and that one armour...Kestral, I think.

There's no worse trend in this industry than retail/console exclusive content.

The horror! Will the heels at least hold lazer bazookas?

Sadly nope. Just knives. :(

Actually that sounds kinda cool. Maybe I should start wearing heels. :bandit:

Just make sure you don't have to run anywhere when wearing them.

The pre-order bonus from Gamestop looks cool, but I'm going to wait and see what Amazon has to offer before putting my money down. Amazon is usually the better choice.

I would have to disagree with you there. Online passes takes the cake.

It's a pretty effective marketing strategy if you think about it, though. But that doesn't make it any better in my eyes as a customer. I'm *really* hoping this exclusive content goes public at some point post-release.

Take Deus Ex: Human Revolution as the most recent example: if you pre-ordered the game, you get the Explosive Mission Pack for free, which includes new items and an extra mission/character. This pack was subsequently made available about three weeks following the game's release at a very reasonable price.

Now, if ME3 goes that route, consider me a happy panda. But we all know ME2 didn't, giving me no reason to believe it will suddenly happen with ME3.

A pre-order DLC like the ones in Deus Ex: HR would definitely work.

But gamestop is the least likely to be placed on retail later on and they did have a better bonus for ME2....and besides i just cannot immagine any way shape or form about how another preorder bonus will be cooler than this.

But I digress....my other preorder for my 2nd CE is with Amazon so I'd be happy to see them have an amazing preorder bonus too.

I don't like the concept of retailer specific content, but it's a bit easier to swallow if it becomes available at some point in the future for everyone else.

That's exactly it. Make it available at a price sometime post-release and everyone is happy. Many games do that, and I provided a recent example a couple posts above.

Lovely, isn't it?

Hmm, interesting.... doubt I'll be using that armor for Shepard (I prefer the look and adaptablity of the N7 armor), but the rifle looks pretty cool and it will complete my set of N7 weapons that'll be included in the CE.

I only wish the pre-order codes were universal across all the platforms.

They might be, all Terminus codes are for both Xbox and PC (PS3 came later)

Oh and for someone who asked about Amazon preorder bonus, Amazon France is offering M55 Carbine Rifle (But it looks like the Argus Rifle from BestBuy).

So the first preorder bonus is out then....any others known so far? Origin is likely to have their own as is Amazon. Hopefully Best Buy and Dr Pepper are left out completely this time around.

One from Best Buy.

Free Bonus Argus Rifle with Mass Effect 3
The high-powered Argus rifle is an excellent close-range weapon, and its bursts of fire conserve ammunition during lengthy conflicts. Others across the galaxy are adopting the Argus as their standard rifle, for both its intimidation factor and suppression power.
Pre-order Mass Effect 3 for Xbox 360, PS3 or Windows and receive a code via e-mail to unlock the Argus rifle. If you choose Store Pickup, the code will also be printed on your store receipt when you pick up the game.
While supplies last. Download code will arrive via e-mail on or around release date. Valid e-mail address.

This is such horsesh*t, if you ask me.

Is it just me or does that kinda look like a Mattock that's been cut in half?

France Amazon and Stateside Amazon may have different bonuses but hopefully there will be no other preorder bonuses. Gamestop gets N7 set and all else the whatever white rifle, unrealistic expectation but one can dream.

This stuff might eventually be made into paid DLC. What about the CE content?
I'm getting the CE and it has a robot dog, in game hoodie and the N7 arsenal!
Will those ever be made DLC? Since, the Collector's Armor & Gun is still exclusive...

They're the same thing. M55 is the Argus's numerical designation, according to some of the leaked files.

I ****ing hate retailer-exclusive DLC. Just had to throw that out there.

But whatever. I have store credit at Gamestop. I'm not going to change retailers just for some silly extra items. I'll live.

The problem being a pre-order code for PC is the same for the 360.  But the one for PS3 is completely isolated.  So I could not redeem a PS3 code for my PC copy and vice versa.

Yeah, it's not really worth the trouble. I'll keep my hopes up for the possibility that it becomes available in the future, without holding my breath.

Eh I think I might stick with the DLC weapons from ME2; namely the Mattock and the Plasma Shotgun.

(Assuming they're in the main game itself...)

Online passes were unavoidable. Servers are a continuing expense, and are incompatible with the used game market (unless you allow player servers, but that is a bigger issue).

This stuff, on the other hand, is unnecessary.

I like preorder DLC but I dislike the fact that every different retailer gets something different. I don't understand why it is not possible for every retailer to have the same crap. You can't get all of it if Gamestop has something, Bestbuy something else and Amazon something else as well. The only way is to get it through Ebay and I really don't like to get things through Ebay.
