Hello everyone,

I've recently been able to get Dragon Age 2 on PSN. However, I've learned quickly that
the game is STUCK in Version 1.00 and will not update.

There is nothing wrong with my connection or ports as I've updated multiple games
already and I'm currently online and can visit the PSN store.

Is there any way at all for me to update this game? I'm still stuck with the Sunder and
Isabella/Attack Speed bug. I've got negative stats regardless of how I play and I'm forced
to fight with a crippled main character no matter what decisions/saves I make.

Please tell me that there is a way to update this game. I'm at my nerve's end here.

Just got finished with a chat with EA support staff. Apparently all the solutions they gave me would
not work. So, if anyone reads this- I highly advise against getting the digital copy of the game, as
there seems to be issues with updating the game itself.

If anyone, anyone at all can give me any information on how to resolve this issue and update my
game I would appreciate it.

I thought the PSN version had the latest patch by default?

I bought the PSN version because I was curious as to if playing the game off my PS3's hard drive would decrease loading and I was unable to do the experience/gold glitch.  I tried to do it to see if the game was patched and it couldn't be done.

I moved all my saves from the PS3 to the PSN+ Online Storage before starting the game too so I didn't have any save files previously patched before trying.

So you should be good to go I would imagine.  I don't think the Sunder glitch has been fixed yet anyway.

[edit] As for the Isabella glitch I think you have to start a new game to resolve that.  I thought Bioware said they fixed the problem but couldn't fix the save files, so if your save is already borked because of the Isabella issue you can start a new game and not have it happen again.  Kind of a crappy 'fix' but better than nothing I guess.

[edit 2] Okay last edit I hope. :P

I actually beat the entire game with the PSN version and as far as I can tell all the fixes from patches 1.01 throuh 1.04 are included in the PSN version.  The PSN version is just 1.00 for the same reason Dragon Age Origins Ultimate Edition is 1.00 while Dragon Age Origins standard was 1.05 or whatever.  The newer version (PSN releases of DA Origins and 2 and the Ultimate Edition of Origins) are at a lower patch number by default but they are equal to the lastest patch numbers of the original releases.  They just have the fixes already applied.

One note though, do not download Mark of the Assassin.  It screwed me over because it corrupted my DA 2 saves files.  I would buy advice buying the DLC until Bioware confirms a fix and releases a patch.

I had speculated whether or not the version number was unique to the digital copy. Thank you.
I didn't know that the Sunder bug was still present after the patches- but this gives me a little
motivation to go ahead and try through the game again. I've cleared all the save/game data just
in case and re-downloaded my DLC (Exiled Prince is the only extensive dlc I have)

I'm going to do some more research on the Sunder issue, since my main character is a warrior
and that passive would be rather nice to have. I heard of a couple of cases that Fenris in
particular was having issues with Sunder, but could be remedied by swapping him out of the
party. My main character however....

I believe I read that Fenris and Carver can't be 'fixed' so just avoid teaching either one of them the 'Sunder' skill.

For Hawke though I think you can swap weapons around and reset it or something.

[edit]

Here's what I read at Game FAQs:

http://www.gamefaqs....age-ii/60668418

"You can get around it with a warrior Hawke by taking off the 2 hand
weapon and equiping W/S then saving I guess, I don't know I've never
tried it. BUT for warrior Fenris and Carver, you're just screwed."
