ME3 Team Size Concerns

Also, if Tali and/or Garrus died in ME2, does that mean their spots are just going to be vacant, or will there be others to replace them? I only ask because if someone plays it with both of them dead, they're kinda getting the short end of the stick with fewer team members and a less in-depth party experience, which is what Mr. Hudson seems to want to focus on.
Oh, and guys, if it is only 7 or 8 guys, that means we only have about 3 reveals to go (depending on whether or not Tali is a temp member, as a certain DEV suggested to torture all of us)

And Tali and Garrus won't be replaced, sorry. You get the short end of the stick when you get someone killed, it's how it works

And it just happens to be Tali & Garrus, and only them. Out of 13 possible ME2 squadmates. It's basically "you may kill everyone else, but if you dare to kill Tali & Garrus, you will have smaller squad as the punishement haha!". Yeahhh.LGTX wrote...

You seem upset. What are you suggesting as an alternative? Another ME2 clutter?

I would suggest selecting characters for ME3 squad that were in ME2 squad based on their importance, not popularity. Miranda, Legion, Mordin all make much more sense to be in the squad again instead of Garrus & Tali.LGTX wrote...

"Making sense" in being a part of a squad during a complicated time of war is an evaluation we are in no position to deduce as of yet. I think you're about as equally correct here as the Garrus/Tali fans, no offence.

Thats a bunch of crap! I resent having someone I can't stand (Tali) forced into my smaller limited squad base especially when there are other characters I would rather have instead. I never use her, never talk to her, she might as well be a paper weight or better yet a hull ornament. ''Suck on FTL speed you beotch!''.

But they also happen to be very important, much more than Tali & Garrus. Legion knows & understands the Reapers more than anyone else. Miranda is a key figure in the organization that during ME2 was doing the most to stop the Reapers AND she's personally responsible for bringing Shep back to life, she knows the best Shep's current condition. Mordin is one of the central figures of the Turian/Salarian/Krogan conflict and he's a science expert which already proved extremly useful in uncovering Collector secrets and thus protecting Shep & the squad from Reaper forces. Not a coincidence you're strongly advised to recruit him first in ME2.Sofia Lamb wrote...

...aren't these also the reasons why they shouldn't be squadmates? :innocent:IsaacShep wrote...

Tali and Garrus...aren't that important in terms of the Quarians and the Turians. Admiral Xen said that Tali was only connected because they wanted to use her to finally decide on the Geth problem.

I simply can't fathom how you can just... scoop up character priorities from ME2 and jam them into ME3 ignoring the little nuance which is the Galaxy waging an all-out war.
We do not know what the hell is going on. Legion might be needed for the geth because it knows so much. Miranda may be off to save her sister or sabotage Cerberus or enlist in an Alliance spy network or whatever in order to better aid the war effort, the way she sees it fit. And the arguments you provide on Mordin are basically begging to lock him away somewhere safe and not bring him on the frontlines at all.
It's never that simple. ME3 is not ME2 where everyone is good at something and the story aligns prettily to accomodate them. It's a war, and hell knows what's going on, and who actually has the time and dedication to join Shepard, even as whole homeworlds burn and star systems are harvested.

It would have been the same thing whether it be Tali and Garrus or Miranda and Jacob. So it is best to suck it up and deal with it.
