@ Chewin3

Though it may sound superficial. If i have to stare at  characters throughout a game they better be beautiful.

James Vega is the perfect male human squadmate for those who found Kaidan too whiny, Jacob too boring and Zaeed too badass to be in Shepard's team.

That or he is Bioware's secret weapon for turning parts of their fanbase into mindless, raging husks. Take your pick.

Zaeed was not too badass. Zaeed was perfection. Zaeed should have been the original male squadmate instead of Kaidan or Jacob IMO.

Actually he's a nice guy who cracked some batarian heads on Omega before being recruited by Anderson to watch over Shepard as he was being brought to Earth. As I take it, James seems to admire Shepard, but I certainly hope it's not in the gay way other people are implying cause hell no! No offense, but if there's homosexuality in ME3, I'd rather it be girl Shep on girl squadmate... hmmm personal preference if you will..

He'd make a fun gay love interest, wouldn't he?

Not really, but hey, some people have a fetish for that sort of thing.

'Fetish' is not the proper word for it.

I guess that makes sense. Even though I have nothing personal against them I always picked picked the more unique ( and I guess memorable based on looks, race and personality ) chacters and never bothered much with Kaiden. I could also say the same about Jacob even though in Jacob's case I can also say that I get what Bioware was trying to do with the charcter but I don't think they really pulled it off, not only did I dislike his skin tight spandex uniform but I did not care for the way a lot of dailogue was written and/or delivered, a lot of the thing she would say would rub me the wrong way ( like the way he dismisses Shepard whne he has nothing new to say ) and I began to feel very uncomfortable interacting with him even though he never did anything wrong to me.

Anyhow, my problems with vega is that he is taking up a valuable spot on my permanent squad when I would much rather have other characters take that spot.

I'm also not that keen on the way the character seems to be being shoved on us. All that hype about his looks and I was not impressed by the reveal. His VO is a big top secret for Bioware but at thi spoint in stage I can't imagine why they are making such a big deal about it, it's like the're just trying to drum up some hype. I'm not big on having things 'forced' on me especially in games that are supposed to be all about 'my' choices, Bioware have been trying too hard to hype up Vega and I'm afraid that when ME3 comes out I will already have made up my mind about him and dismissed him just because I feel that Bioware tried too hard to shove him down my throat.

You're right. 'Sexual craving' is far more accurate.

Dick Neck (a.k.a James Vega) was just your average, self-obsessed fail marine before that fateful April morning: basement-dwelling, acne-riddled, glasses-donning, slightly unsatisfied with life, and especially prone to bouts of overcompensation for these flaws by aggressively working out. In fact, almost every he did during his first year as a member of the military was exploring the varied and completely uninteresting aspects of working out.

If Vega was an optional character, I would have no problem.

He appears as a character developed to appeal to the GoW crowd and first-time players.

Again, if he were option this would be perfectly fine.

The mohawk and neck bigger than his head make him a completely unappealing squad member for me.

The comic where he tears off a TV and begins to randomnly beat up Batarians also makes him seem an over-aggressive, clueless, violent steroid abuser.

This kind of person is of course perfect for the Bro-crowd.

There are plenty of rather large folk in the military.  And while he's a big man, he's not so enormous as people like to make out around here.
