I seem to be out of options. I have that annoying game-killing crash,
the one where the screen stutters and dumps me out onto my desktop.
sometimes it stutters again when I'm on the desktop and dumps me back
into the game un-crashed, but most of the time it just crashes and
windows tells me: "the program has stopped working". The time varies,
sometimes i can play for fifteen minutes, other times it crashes only
seconds after I've loaded my game. Once it crashed while i was in the
main menu.
I have tried everything I've seen on the forums, I've validated my
install a dozen times, uninstalled and re-installed three times, updated
my video and sound drivers, downloaded the Direct X Redistributables
(from Steam and Microsoft), updated Direct X in general, disabled my
antivirus, run both NVN2 and the Steam client in a variety of
compatibility modes (all of the ones available for windows Vista and
XP), made sure all the files in the game folder are not "read only",
downloaded and run Skywing's NWN2 Client Extension, Set the game to Max
Affinity, Ran it as an administrator, monitored my PC for overheating,
and even tried all these options in a variety of combinations!

I have the error logs from the Neverwinter Nights 2 folder in steam apps
as well which ill post in a moment. In addition i have the log from
Skywing's NWN2 Client Extension if that helps (especially since it had a
couple of: "WARNING: Failed to load" messages.
If someone could help me or put me in touch with someone who can i would
be eternally grateful. Ive exhausted everything i can think of and am
about ready to delete this game permanently.

i just tried validating... its kind of odd that steam failed to give me 8 files the first time... idk if that will help tho, i'll give it some time and let you know
