No, you are put into a sandbox mode, and can only go to camp and extra DLC content.. all other game areas are CLOSED and it's considered to be a time BEFORE the final battle.... sort of USELESS IMO... but it's there for furture DLCs so you can probably continue with your character

Hrm....that grey really isn't dark enough is it? Oh well, nevermind. Consider yourself spoiler warned.
After you beat the game, you end up in camp. The idea is that the save is chronologically before you fight the Archdemon. Your character, levels and equipment are all the same, and you can still go to new dungeons and partake in downloaded content. But you can no longer visit towns and cities etc. In answer to your question, Alistair and Morrigan are both in camp at this time (assuming they were both still in your party. I suppose you may very well have Loghain instead).
