I pine for the days when I was under the impression that the ME3 squad would be more of a pick-your-team sorta thing. "Nothing is permanent in war" and all that jazz.

Overall I'd say that ME2 squad is better than ME.

Tali was an unfunny Mission (both just as annoying)

Considering Mission never acted like a Twi'lek history book I don't really see the similarity.

It felt good while it lasted.

At the least, I imagined there would be a slot open for one player-chosen party member.

I enjoyed some from both me1 squad and me2 as to which is better some of the charters were fleshed out a bit more if you romanced them where as some if you dident had verry little to say at all umm calabrations anyone. so would be a toss up as to which i think is better some in 1 i really liked and some in 2 cought my intrest. but I think bioware made two big of a squad for 2 so they couldent give each squadmate the attention they deserved (which hurt the develpoment some).

At least we should have the option of choosing some of the pernament squad member. Im okay with the original cast returning, but wouldn´t it be awesome if we could choose the rest of them? Like having 2-3 open slots for us to recruit. Ofcourse, animation/voicing the entire ME2 cast as a full pernament squad ME3 member would take a lot of resources and money. How about only the LI would be transferreble?

It seems they wanted a smaller squad so they could develop better squad dialog and interactions.

Sure, they could have a larger squad but then dialog/banter would be shallow (y'know, "calibrations").

Also, considering everyone on the ME2 team can possibly die on the suicide mission, it's tough to implement all possible combinations of survivors.

I figured they would do something like this....bring back the VS and Liara, add a few new people, then bring back two of the most popular ME squad mates in the entire series (apparently, Garrus and Tali) while the rest wouldn't be on the squad.

Fixed it for you. :) Garrus and Tali are not ME2 exclusive squadmates seeing as they were also in ME1, and they're the most popular in the series, not ME2. Those roles are filled by Miranda and Mordin.

Cause its obvilously the truth.
Me1 squad made me want to die, its why I bought Genisis with my MSP's so I dont gotta deal wid'em.

Thankfully BioWare thought the same and is giving the Me1 characters a chance.^_^

Meh, Genesis doesn't offer the same experience and choices of ME. Though I didn't download it, so I don't know how far you could influence the game with it.

I honestly thought ME2 had a pretty mediocre cast overall. Other than a select few they were quite dull. Felt much the same about them as I did the DA2 characters. They tried to make them all "badass and awesome" and they all had this one aspect about them and the game just continuously beat you over the head with it.

I liked the ME2 squad much more than ME1 . It was harder to choose who I wanted to bring on missions in ME2 because we're limited to two at a time. In ME1, I mostly used Garrus and Wrex without switching it up until later playthroughs. But after reading the spoilers, I saw that some of the squadmates who annoyed me in ME1 seem more interesting now, and most of the squadmates who won't be coming back to the Normandy still have a great ending to their story in ME3. So I'm happy with almost everything.

I'm a little confused here... Do you mean give the ME1 characters a chance to improve, or a chance to get killed off? Because if it's "killed off," I need to check the spoilers again. (I only know about a possible death for one, not the other.)

As far as I know you could kill 4 squadmates.

I liked both squads but because there were so many of them, I found it too bothersome to actually care. Most of the time when I was chatting to them, I just kept hitting the skip button until a rena/para discision popped up. I really couldn't be bothered caring for most of them in ME2. I don't want to say I hated them, but it approached that point.

That being said, I got the 'No man left behind' acheivement each time I did the suicide mission. I'm just not game enough to let them die in a Reaper-Controlled outpost.

I was talking about the ME1-only squadmates who can join again in ME3, Liara and Kaidan/Ashley.

They can die in ME3, yes. If you want I'll PM you with the detail I know.

Improve..give them another chance cause they failed miserbly in Me1..  whatever you want to name it.
IMO, everyone sucked in Me1 besides Garrus and Wrex.
Ashley, Kaidan, Well Kaidan was alright.  Not a huge fan.

They all drove me nuts. I wish I could of Virmired my Shepard, take away her pain.
Like I said, Geneis was the best MSP's I ever spent. Now I don't have to go back and listen to the characters pretty much.

And no one is getting killed off, beside the person you Virmired from Me1 if thats what you ment. The rest of the old Normandy's crew is staying.:pinched:

But its rumored that someone from the Me2 squad is gon die.
Just for a future reference.;)

Personally I prefer the ME2 cast. There's more characters in ME2 that don't bore me to tears/annoy me.

I'm with OP, I wish that you could have at least two ME2 (non-Garrus/Tali) squadmates to join you in 3 provided they survived and you allow them to join. Any of them. That would be awesome possum. Completely optional so the ME1 fans can have what they want and the ME2 fans can as well.

By this I mean that I would quite like for Legion and Jack to be on my perma-squad. But I don't think they will. :(

This shouldn't even be a topic.

Apart from quantity, the ME 2 squad was absolutely superior in all categories.

ME1 sucks because your crew didn't have that many conversations (not that ME2 was much better but it was slightly better).
They are increasing squad dialog for ME3 since the squad is smaller.  I think that will lead to better characterization.

I guess being a girl, I don´t really see all the fuss regaring Liara either.

What does being a girl have to do with it?

I thought ME1 did a lot in terms of character development. Sure it wasn't great but that can be written off because it was a shorter game. I admit the changes in peoples characters were swift but again this was because of the lack of in-depth covo. ME2 gave each character a loyalty mission which was what gave it so much more depth. ME, however had the loyalty mission (favor mission) for Wrex, Garrus, and Tali which gav each one of them a little bit of depth. Ash, Kaidan, and Liara all change toward shepard. Ash is an all-human kind of gal but it's Shepard who gets her to bring down her shields and open up and you even see her actually opening up to your alien crew members, going as far as to talk talking to them in an elevator to actually doing it. Liara is very shy and she becomes more confident and strong due to shepard. Basically you see growth.
