It's obvious we're at an impasse here. Let's talk again in March after we've had the chance to bring Tali along throughout the ME3 missions. See how useful she is in combat then. Personally, I can't wait to find out.JosephDucreux wrote...

That's okay, keep up your denial. Fact is, Tali is far from useless in ME2, no matter if you're capable of using her correctly or not.
It's ok too, keep your denial. Fact is, Tali is far from useful in ME2 even if you're using her 'correctly' as a pure support squaddie like I did. By chucking her at the back while spamming combat drones.

Mordin - thought he was great, and one of the best characters in the series
Miranda- thought she was dull, and lacked any real personality, she was just mindless t&a imo
Jacob - almost neck and neck with Kaidan, as the most boring person in the series
Grunt - was nothing special, and a poor replacement for Wrex
Legion - was nothing special, I was hoping for a little more HK47, and not a walking Geth codex
Thane - indifferent to him, did hate that creepy flash back eye thing O_o
Samara - decent, but forgettable
Jack - too cliche for me, I guess her background the second she was revealed, and almost nail her back story on the nose
Zaeed - forgettable
Kasumi - was ok, wish she wasn't a dlc character, so she would have been more fleshed out

Ummm ok. How so? On the point of Tali being useful. She may not be the best squad mate, but with the GPS, she is far from useless. Still, she is much better in ME1 anyway .MsSihaKatieKrios wrote...

People who think that Tali is useless in ME2 have obviously never gone above the Normal or Veteran difficulty settingher Explosive Drone makes a great exploding distraction and her Bonus power Energy Drain becomes a godsend when nearly all of the enemies have shields equiped (hell, give her a GPS to boot, and she can last longer than either Garrus, Grunt, or Zaeed).
I play on Veteran. Normal's too easy, Hardcore is...well, yeah. Anyways, Tali is still useless, even more so after you get Legion. I gave her a GPS, and...no difference. At all. I swear it's a sexist thing, making all the women such fragile combatants while all the men are bloody tanks.
@ Kid Buu
Only in your troll logic would it make sense. The ME2 squad has been and always will be more relevant.

I dunno. I find Miranda to be incredibly useful on the offensive. She has Warp (Heavy) and Overload (Heavy), good for taking out all 3 types of defenses, plus the AI squadmembers have almost perfect accuracy, so you can give her the Tempest and Carnifex and be on your way. Just for the love of god use her powers for her, don't let her do it. I guess she's the classic glass cannon.
Samara is best used as a support, I find. Reave disables organics and damages them, so it's a classic CC. Throw (Does she have throw?) is a good disable and it damages as well, and it also stuns I believe if maxed out. Her weapons are also decent. Set her up with a Mattock/Vindicator and a Tempest and GG.
Jack is a good offensive/support hybrid. Heavy Shockwave does an obscene amount of damage and is uber godmode useful against husks, especially if you're a non-soldier class. I forget her other powers. GPS and Carnifex and GG.
While Tali is far from useless, she's the most situational of all the female squadmates. She's literally ONLY useful in large firefights consisting of nothing but synthetics. Explosive Drone is the only real useful power of hers against organics, but the enemies I've seen never attack it to blow it up, but I digress.

I mean some characters I just dont get what the fuss is about. Tali? Yeah shes pretty cool, the quarians are an interesting race, but I dont know why theres so many rabid fans. Not starting a war here or anything just stating my opinion.

I mean apart from Wrex, Garrus and possibly Kaiden I did not care for any of them. I have never got the fuss about Tali, nor Liara who doesn't have much life about her. Lastly, Ashley is a xenophobic pig who doesn't deserve the air she breathes and is a stereotypical...bit of a lady..she gets about if you know what I mean. (or however you canadians/yanks but it)
The ME2 squad I could run through and show you why it is better.
Mordin, Hilarious, Witty, Smart and a joy to play with.
Thane, deep rich character with a wonderful backstory but still had a heart and some sharp lines
Legion, A lovely contrast to have a geth which complements any other squadmate.
Jack, Not my favourite but if playing rene, good fun to have.
Grunt, Worse than Wrex but it is hard to make another interesting Krogan.
Jacob. Meh, not every character can be perfect.
Miranda- Adequate, not great, not awful
Kasumi and Zaeed- Good, solid characters
Samara- Better than Liara- more life in her. Still not great.
A really hope they say, choose 3 ME2 characters and put them into your ME3 squad. That would be amazing. Sadly, they pander to the Taliamancers and Liara/Garrus fanclub who sadly are the majority.

The only ME1 characters I liked were Garrus and Wrex. In Mass Effect 2, I care about all of them, except Jacob maybe. Everyone has an interesting character and backstory that I would like to explore a little more in ME3.
I even imagined most of them to play an important role in the upcoming war.
- Mordin as one of the most intelligent beings in the universe, he could be the counterpart of possible chemical warfare of the Reapers and what not.
- Miranda, as the perfect human and high-ranked Cerberus officer fighting against those who once protected her.
- Grunt, the perfect Krogan, the bully killing machine. He would probably enjoy the Reaper's arrival
- Legion, the info-source for understanding the Reapers
etc.
... I just hope they will keep more characters from ME2 than announced so far.
