I died in dragon age 1 but then played witch hunt with my dead warden and made a new one for awaking since I was dead. So my question is should I replay witch hunt with the awaking warden since my warden was dead? I want her to reserrect me for D3

Witch Hunt has no effect on anything in DA2.

All you need to worry about is Origins (main game) and Awakening.

It's unknown what role, if any, the warden will play in DA3, so I wouldn't plan to much around Morrigan bringing a dead warden back from the dead, if that was possible.

To be fair Origins doesn't have much of an effect either.

..it is my understanding that if you play with an Orlesian warden in awakening, then the details for your DAO warden are not transferred so it wouldn't be your warden resurected
...and the chances are that Morrigan is still mad at you for refusing the Dark Ritual so it's unlikely she would even if she could

Only just got the game & I imported from dragon age origins. Bit confused though, as I killed or rather defeated Flemeth in DAO only for her to appear at the beginning of number 2. I take it the import just acts as a rough back story guide, otherwise I couldn't see flemeth coming to my rescue and making no mention of the fact I had attacked and tried to kill her as a favour to her daughter Morrigan?

Flemeth's case gets explained in-game. You can kill Flemeth in DAO but the amulet she asks Hawke to deliver is her horcrux so she can resurrect herself.

I'm also fairly certain that you can't fight flemeth in DA:O until well after lothering has been decimated by darkspawn. DA:2 starts with you running from lothering as the darkspawn are over-running it.

I wonder if one of the DLCs will will use WH flags. All the people who didn't carry over a WH save just because there were no plot flags in it would have to replay DA2 with the proper imported save then. I used a WH save just to be on the safe side, plus if DA3 carries over my DA2 save and uses stuff from Origins it might only read the imported Origin stuff. Does that make sense?

Anyways, to answer the original question I believe I heard a rumor about it messing up DA2 somehow if you import a save file with a dead Warden who was "resurrected" in a DLC. Bu to be fair, people are correct when they say their isn't much from Origins carried over anyways. Which kind of makes sense since we are not in Ferelden anymore. Why would every little thing you did in one country matter in a city state across the sea? But I digress....

You cannot fight Flemeth until after you beat the Broken Circle quest because you need to give Morrigan the grimoire in Irving's office for her to learn about how her mom extends her life span which leads her to asking you to kill Flemeth.

Yes you meet Flemeth in DA2 before the Warden would have killed her. Also Flemeth does make mention of it when you meet her and also when you bring the amulet to Sundermount. She says "I had/have an appointment to keep" then mentions Morrigan.

I wouldn't be surprised if Mike Laidlaw and David Gaider don't wake up in the middle of the night from nightmares of import flags. Its a downright difficult situation to address.

Parts of the DA2 and DA:O timeline intersect. Flemeth has not yet been killed by the warden at this point, as she has only recently rescued him and sent him on his quest.

You do realize that Hawke and the warden aren't the same person, right? Hawke has never tried to kill Flemeth in any way and as such Flemeth has not reason not to help Hawke. As other has said so does da2 start around the time the warden leaves Lothering which means that the warden haven't attempted to kill Flemeth yet.

First in DAO, Hawke is some random townie in Lothering. Second DA2 opens after Flemeth saves the Wardens, just as Lothering is destroyed so, likely before you fought her as a warden. Finally, you will see how she manages to foresee and avoid actually being killed by the warden, with Hawke's help.
