My canon LI is Tali with any type of Shepard XD .
I have a Fem-Shep with Liara too .
My plans for ME are to stay loyal to both of them , unless Tali become BI.
One playthrough with Jack maybe is worth , i really liked her character development , Miranda romance was quite interesting , her character grew up on me but not enough to have her own save.
Not really liked the romance of ME1 , too fast for my taste .

Both my main Shepards are gonna remain faithful. My Renegon chose Tali. For my Paragade, I debated on choosing Ashley, but then I realized she killed Wrex, so I picked Liara instead.

She doesn't have to kill Wrex though. It's your decision.

Funny ... I think it's pretty much the other way: ME1!romances feel right and come with a build up while ME2!romances feel "too fast for my taste": loyalty mission + one more dialogue + decision = sex

Guess it's a matter of taste.

Sure it is , but the ME1 romance were (my opinion,never supposed to have right,just want to explain my point of view )  just like you wrote about the ME2 romance but without the loyalty mission .
And only the Liara romance had a serios build up also through ME2 IMHO , Ashley/Kaidan just had the Horizon argument with Shepard and the E-mail (not perfectly written  ) but that's it .

Cultic: we both know Horizon didn't do a favor to the VS. I'd say, the VS-romance is more for the guys who want a realistic feeling relationship (uhhh ... "realistic" - who died and came back from the dead before?). Liara!romance feels a bit like a "perfect" relationship - and that makes it boring to me. I'm not a drama-dude, so I should pick Liara!romance over Ashley!romance, right?
Not for me. I simply dislike relationships with a devoted partner. It makes things easier but also less interesting.

Just my opinion.

My faves are still:

Ashley
Gianna Parasini
Miranda

Uhh and a part of mine wants Tela Vasir back. ^^

Yeah , you perfectly made the point ,it's only taste , no one have the right upon the others , but there's nothing bad to discuss a little;)  .
When i  discovered that ME have romance i pretty much immediately  think to do almost only cross species romance , in a Sci-Fi story i wanted aliens , as much as possible and with the better developement possible.
I didn't pick Liara as the main romance because she didn't look alien enough for me , and i quote the fact that she is the most perfect romance from a plot perspective , and the fact that she gonna live for 1000 years didn't help me to take much seriosly her romance plot , but as a non romance character i like her a lot .
The Miranda romance was nice , before her loyalty mission i wanted to throw her out the Normandy with a M920 Cain , but after  the loyalty mission she grew up a little on me,she showed that she wasn't only curves but a complete character.
But i didn't do a save just for romance her , for the same reason i didn't do it for Jack , i found the character personality repairs ( Jack and Miranda ) interesting , because you know better the character but nothing more.

Garrus. Deeffinitely Garrus. Personally, I think the Garrus romance makes the most sense and is the most deep, just because he's the only one that's been with Shepard through it all and never left her or abandoned her, that's just my opinion.

Garrus. Never liked Kaidan, was happy to see it paid off in ME2. Don't want to have cheated abandoned romance options wandering around the galaxy. Nah, in truth, nobody but Garrus felt right for my Shepard, esp. with the way I set up her character (Renegon, Colonist, butcher of Torfan). Jacob is about as interesting as Kaidan IMHO and Thane... I don't care what they say or for whatever reason but a guy crying on my Shepard's first official date is NO.

So yeah... my Shepard stays loyal to Garrus even if they bring a new LI.

Alex: Kaidan, and I hope it pays off, if not... mehCass had no romance in ME1 but that allows for three things to happen:
v.1) No romance in ME2, waiting to see in ME3
v.2) Garrus
v.3) Thane 
I don't like break-up drama, I see enough of it in my friends' love lives to write a whole romantic TV series on it. <_<

For femShep:

- Thane.
- Kaidan (I like it more if Shep is a biotic).

Characters that I would love them to be LI's: Aria, Samara, Shiala. For some reason they are the only asaris that I like.

I'll be staying true to Ash and Liara in my main two campaigns, and then mess around with cheating and stuff in my others, just to see how many catfights I can squirm into.

Also, if Kasumi is a romance option this time, I am ****ing the **** out of that. <3
