Hey there, wasn't 100% sure where to post this so if this is in the wrong place I apologize.  Anyways, my question is- The playstation version of Mass Effect 2 gave us the ability to make several important plot decisions from Mass Effect 1 (via the interactive backstory comic) however many decisions we have no say in at all.  Are there any specific choices we make in our version of Mass Effect 2 that makes the game decide what happened in the past game?  And if not is there any way to make those past choices?  Also is there anywhere I could find a list of what exactly the default choices are if there is no way to change them?

Thanks!

All of the small choices you get to make in ME1 on Xbox and PC, I believe that they will not happen in the PS3 vertion of ME 2 or 3. And there are a lot of those small choices in ME1 to make.

Basically Shepard starts off on the ps3 version as a pure past renegade. What I mean is that the back story is set so that all of the worst possible decisions have been taken and negative outcomes have therefore occurred. Wrex, leader of clan Urdnot and potential uniter of the Krogan race is dead, killed by Shepard. The Rachni queen is dead and with that, her race a potential ally in mass effect 3, are all but extinct. The Citadel council were left to die by Shepard's orders and Shepard is no longer a spectre and has no love interest either so you can't romance Liara in LotSB. There are no ways to overturn these decisions for the start of the ps3 version beyond the Genesis comic.

I was afraid of this.  Would it be at all possible that Bioware might be able to make a better genesis comic?  Because the ps3 versions seems significatly lesser in comparison to the Xbox and PC copies.

No, there is no way to save Kirrahe in the PS3 version. The only way to save him is by playing ME1 on Xbox and PC. Stinks, I know.

Hope he isn't overly important in fighting the Reapers...

Even with that said for a game that focuses so much on CHOICE it is a bit disconcerting to lose that power of Choice.

It was your choice to buy a PS3. If you wanted the full swathe of decisions tha were made in ME1, you should have bought ME1, and a platform which supports it.

1- I purchased a PS3 before I even knew about Mass effect.
2- I would still choose a PS3 over any other system.  To this day.

There was no reason to attack me for my choice in systems.  I'm a college student so you just know that I can so easily afford to buy another console.  Then again I would just get a better pc.  Not an Xbox.

@rex, I wouldn't worry about it too much really. Regardless of the decisions you made in ME1 (or didn't make if you didn't play it) and ME2, you'll still be able to complete ME2 and ME3 successfully. There's no way that bioware would write a game you couldn't finish. And I agree, your choice of platform here is not relevant in relation to the simple question that you've asked. I too have a ps3 (and ME2 for it) and its great, but I must confess that I prefer to play these particular games on the pc.

Oh no I apologize if it sounded like I thought I wouldn't be able to beat the game.  I never thought that.  I was just afraid of missing content.

And I would prefer pc as well for this series if my laptop would play mass effect 1.

Hmm, it does sound as if playable content could change or be unavailable dependant on whether people are alive or dead in your story arc. If you lose squad mates in ME2 then you may lose missions in ME3 relevant to them but we'll only know for certain when the game arrives. But whatever, Bioware will ensure that everyone gets an enjoyable and fulfilling game. And if you miss anything, well they want to go back and play the 3 games all over again and put things right...

I didn't read that as a personal attack.
