...dude. Female can apply to anything as long as it fits the requirements of being female.

Woman can only apply to women. It has nothing to do with sentience it has to do with species. You must fit 2 requirements to be considered a woman. A. A female. B. A human being.

A female dog is called a certain name, a female cow is called a cow, a female cow that hasn't breed is called a heifer a male (cow?) is called a bull.

SPECIES

Not sentience.

That's odd, because usually adults are their own persons, you know not pigeonhold by daddy's wishes, or worshiping thier boss that they begin to see him as a demi god. That sounds like a deluded love sick pre-teen. and she still looks like an actual Robot Chicken.

Jack goes either way? I hope so.

Tali has a personality you dont like so she must be 14? Nice logic. You dont know how quarians are brought up so you really cant say anything.

And MJ and Jack look like men. Your point?

Read what I said, ME clearly has its own logic, as Tali and several Asari are refered to as this. As well s the other example I gave.

Female is gender dependent, "woman" isn't. Which is why a man who gets gender reassignment would be referred to as a woman, because she's human. Tali, Liara, etc. are female but their respective races have designations for each gender.

Ever heard a Krogan call another a man? a boy? No, but we've heard pups and females.

Or you know the writers could be using a translation convention that isn't strictly accurate so players don't have to be bothered remembering what a female alien X is called so decided to ignore what woman actually means.

The devs logic doesn't overwrite what the word woman means. They are simply wrong in calling Tali/Asari/whatever else they call woman that's not a human female.

Then thats their fault. This applies to the subject of Asari being all female as well.

It's not that I don't like her, its that she behaves like a child. Which makes the prospect of her sexual proclivity towards Shepard disturbing. Miranda and Jack look like men? Ok, but put a skinny boy in a pvc suit and he's pass for Tali easily.

Then again, I could see the appeal of someone worshiping the ground one walks on. Its usually reserved for those who have an undeserved sense of accomplishment, but playing a super soldier will do that to ya I guess.

The Asari *are* female.

They are not women.

Tali is female.

She's not a woman.

FemShep is female

She's a woman.

Kelly is female.

She's a woman.

The devs using the word wrongly doesn't change what the word means. If it did why on earth doesn't Shep refer to Garrus/Wrex as men far more often?

I disagree completely. She may behave slightly immature, but a child? No. The second part is also wrong, Tali actually has a female figure, so no.

No, you missed the point entirely. The subject of ASARI BEING FEMALE IS IN DISPUTE BECAUSE THEY DONT MATCH THE DEFINITION OF BEING FEMALE IN YET THEY ARE CALLED THAT. See what I mean? ME has its own logic and definitions.

Eh true.

Ah well. It's not a bug. OP it's a feature. XD

@KidBuu: How so? The Asari look identical to human females and have belly buttons that suggest they are birthed via a similar way to humans as well.

The codex also says they're females and there's nothing known about them to contradict this.

My first comments were no worse than what all of you say all the time, so I disagree.

You typing in all caps doesn't make that anymore true.

How exactly do the Asari not match the definition of being female?

Indeed and its not entirely a bad thing. Its like when the devs (or was it a writer? can't remember) called quarians mammals, which would be impossible unless quarians were somehow genetically connected to earth.

Its just a convenience to call them mammals (and tali a woman) rather than jumping through the linquistic hoops to write for the species.

Because they are the donors and the recipients in `sex,` as well, Casey Hudson even said they werent exactly female.

It was a pathetic justification for the fact that they said that there wan't any s/s romance in ME.
