Or you know the writers could be using a translation convention that isn't strictly accurate so players don't have to be bothered remembering what a female alien X is called so decided to ignore what woman actually means.

The devs logic doesn't overwrite what the word woman means. They are simply wrong in calling Tali/Asari/whatever else they call woman that's not a human female.

That's the thing though, I don't think they've ever used the designation "woman," its always, "female." Hell the only time I can remember it being used in either game is by the one of the VS's commenting on Liara saying, "I guess she looks enough like a woman." Other than that, it never gets closer than that. The only designation they get is, "female."

I disagree completely. She may behave slightly immature, but a child? No. The second part is also wrong, Tali actually has a female figure, so no.

But again, you can't really see anything, so you're really crossing fingers and hoping for the best. I believe some call this a "trap." So, best of luck to you on that, but kudos on taking the risk of doing something extra kinky.

I still don't see how you rationalize Jack and Miranda looking like men. Is it her shaved head? Please say its her shaved head so I can point to myriad Super Models who're the example of feminine physiques from the 80's 90's and now who still shave their heads.

No, you missed the point entirely. The subject of ASARI BEING FEMALE IS IN DISPUTE BECAUSE THEY DONT MATCH THE DEFINITION OF BEING FEMALE IN YET THEY ARE CALLED THAT. See what I mean? ME has its own logic and definitions.

You typing in all caps doesn't make that anymore true.

How exactly do the Asari not match the definition of being female?

They are females. Asari are an all female race as we humans (with two genders) understand it. You can have asexual females as nature here on earth has proven.

The difference between us and them is that they only have one gender and thus their perspective isn't "female" like we see it. Its more of a culture thing than strictly scientific as I understand it.

Did you see my first post in this thread? I've already got popcorn covered. Some tea would be nice though; thank you for providing it.

It was a pathetic justification for the fact that they said that there wan't any s/s romance in ME.

may be true, but its still relevent.

I don't think so, since theyre clearly female. They're monogendered, not asexual. And their gender is the female one.

Because they are the donors and the recipients in `sex,` as well, Casey Hudson even said they werent exactly female.

A. The Codex says the exact opposite in both games

B. I'm gonna take the in game codex over Hudson covering his ass over the dev team letting FemShep be a lesbian and not let dude Shep be gay.

Except for the fact that she is according to any information source.

Have you seen MJs face? Thats MJ right there. Jack has a decent face but her body could easily be a guy`s and no one would notice.

It says that in ME1, I dont believe it says that in ME2, as I believe it was retconed.

Yeah I decided to give
him the benefit of the doubt of telling the truth. But I don't recall
any mentions of women by anyone who shouldn't be saying it either.

Nope. Says it in ME2. Go check the codex. Same exact codex entry from ME1.

So what your saying is that the asari ARE female because it says they are in game? So the game overrides the dictionary? So then Tali is a woman because it says it in game. I guess I win.

Uh no.

The Asari are female because we can't study them to see if they actually fit all the requirements of being female and can only go off game knowledge. [that said I'm pretty sure even with what little we know they do fit said requirments. Not certain though]

We know the alien races aren't humans. That's not a doubt. They're not women. They can't be women anymore than FemShep can be female quarian/krogan/asari/whatever. It's a translation convention that's inaccurate for player ease. Nothing more.

Asari are both donors and recipients in sex so they arent female.

Well, I'm home sick with the flu, so I decided to play a bit ME2, and nowhere in the Asari or Quarian entries do they use the word woman, women, or any variation thereof, only female. And then only to the Asari.

Usually people who undergo gender reassignment refer to themselves as their designated sex prior to any procedures, and since there really can't be any confirmation, its pretty open to interpretation.

Well, Miranda is modeled after her va Yvonne, and I doubt anyone thinks she looks "manly." And Jack looks like a man because she has small breasts? Have you seen a woman before? Not a chicken woman, but a human one?

How are they donors?

I could've sworn the Asari supposedly reproduce by randomizing genetic code using the "father's" DNA he doesn't actually do anything (and even that wasn't certain).
