I talked to Jacob and accepted his mission. In my journal it says Jaacob: The Gift of Greatness / travel to Aeia. Talk to Jacob is already checked. I've searched everywhere and I cannot find Rosetta Nebula or Aeia anywhere. Is there a reason the Rosetta Nebula does not show up in the milky way? Can someone tell me where to look?
Thank you.

Normally the galaxy map should have the 'help Jacob' icon. If it's not there you've encountered a bug.

You could try going to Illium and buying the star charts if you haven't already. Doing so may update and reset the galaxy map and allow you to see the Rosetta Nebula. As said, help Jacob should be visible on the map.

I did buy the start charts on Illium. When I look at Milky Way view I don't see anything that says Help Jacob. I put the cursor over all of the blue circles and none of them show up as Rosetta Nebula. So I guess I'm not missing anything. Guess it is a bug? Anyone have an idea of how to fix it?
Thanks.
Thanks.

You hit a glitch....restart from previous save BEFORE you go talk to Jacob, if that doesn't work, try another character, if that doesn't work, reinstall the game and try your save then new character. If you have steam, then you can verify cache instead of reinstall.

I thought I just sent a response but for some reason didn't go through.
Unfortunately I spoke with Jacob a while ago but decided not to do his mission right away. So I can't go to a previous save or I will loose a bunch of missions I completed.
What do you mean by try another character??
I guess I can try to reinstall and see if my current save works then.
Thank you.

Try another character is just that, play another character/shepard to see if you get the mission or can go there.

It's always a good idea to keep at least 10 previous saves just in case you want/need to jump back for any reason. Also it's a good idea to keep a backup of the save game folders just in case your machine needs rebuilding. Nothing feels worse than losing stuff on the computer...
Uninstall the game and any DLCs you have. Reinstall the game and patch it to 1.02, and then try your save game. If that works then try adding your DLC and see if that makes a difference. There have been reports from some that some DLC packs (notably LotSB) introduce the main game with bugs.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I do save all of my saved games and also back them up to a separate locations. But it was many saves ago when I first spoke with Jacob so going back that far would have made me lose all the missions.
I just reinstalled the game and now the Rosetta Nebula shows up and so do a bunch of other places/missions. Guess something just got screwed up.
Thank you all.

Way overkill in my view. I very rarely have more than a handful of saves for any single character. I usually have two core saves that get updated just before and after significant events. I do a manual rolling save before entering new areas and run with Quick Saves within areas (I rarely rely on auto-saves). Very rarely I make a fixed save at certain plot events, but do so in a few games where I may want to replay but there is zero value to redoing certain early stages before one decides what "path" one will take.
My view is that if you need more saves than that, you either a) have a very buggy game that doesn't deserve your time or
