Now I know there is a ruckus for a romance with Joker, but here me out. Joker and Edi in ME2 end up bonding (mostly because he has no one but her in the cockpit and the whole saving the ship thing) But I could see those two as having an in-depth emotional subplot love story. I'm not saying it's a good idea exactly it has a lot of holes. But ME2 did kind of set that up... thoughts?

Kasumi would agree with you, she thinks they argue like an old married couple.

Romance between them is stupid and makes joker seem pathetic... not to mention the brittle bones..

However having them banter and tease each other more is okay.

I also wouldnt mind being able to romance him as female shephard

I don't read spoilers. But I can not unsee what Unpleasant Implications wrote and the implications seem fairly obvious given our cultural references. I can almost already hear EDI saying "By your command Jeff "

You could just tell them to cut it out and keep it professional.

It's an option.

I think it's cute. *shrug* Probably cause I don't want to romance him though. If Shep can date and alien Joker can date a hot AI. The only thing that would make it a little weird is that at this point Joker refers to Edi as his mother more then once.

Inter-species relationships are seen a lot in the Mass Effect universe. But there is never anything mentioned about a relationship with an AI... I think that the banter between them was only supposed to show the development of what was first Joker not trusting EDI. And then to them engaging in friendly banter, yet keeping up the pretense that they hate each other. I don't think that Bioware intended to have people think that they were ever going into engage in a serious relationship.

I'm not ruling it out, but I would be VERY surprised if something like that happened in ME3. It would be like being in a relationship with a talking, intelligent toaster, with a drawing of a hot woman on.

Ok, not quite like that, but you catch my drift ;)

but Bioware is good at keeping scifi motifs in Mass effect and a classic motif is an AI falling in love. I don't think'd be serious to the extend of what shep has, but possibly Joker wanting her to be alive and realizing she isn't and it can never be. Then for the ship to go down and he has to watch as his ship and love go down together. After all Joker is a pilot so he's going to bond with the ship regardless ( as we can see in ME1 and the first part of ME2) but to actually have it bond back is something that probably messed with his head enough to get him to fall in love.

No, not quite, unless you by "toaster" just mean cylon or non-biological life form.

If Joker is going to romance something inorganic, it might as well be his leather chair.
Or his hat.

His leather chair would know his curves best, but his hat would be more fitting. Oh decisions.

The chair or the hat would never betray Joker either. Perfect match.

Just tell me why it's a "better" idea than him actually being a real person (Shep or another crew member), and I'll consider your argument. I'll even have a civil one for you.

But because you decided to call me and others obese (the military has weight standards, you know...oh wait, that means I'm not a housewife, either! I'm actually a pilot. <_<) and not take sarcastic banter for what it is, how about I just report you and save the discussion for another time?
