I downloaded NWN2 from the Mac App Store and have been enjoying the game until I reached the point where my Warlock is trying to level up to 17. Suddenly the Prestige categories have appeared in the classes list, but the one I'm interested in, Hellfire Warlock, isn't listed -and worse, the standard Warlock is greyed out and no longer available to me as a class!

I've realised that I don't have the prerequisites to become a Hellfire Warlock yet (should have read ahead), but don't understand why it's not displayed in grey along with the other classes I can't access. I'd hoped to carry on progressing as a straight Warlock until I've sorted out my Lore skill and the Hellfire path is available, but this isn't possible either.

I really don't want to ignore the Warlock class from now and am completely stalled with the game as a result.

Has anyone else seen this? The app store is supposed to deliver the latest patched version and handle updates, so I can only assume that I'm up to date. I've tried loading earlier games and levelling up from there after encountering a few other bugs that were fixed this way (at one stage, the fight with Lorne was unwinnable, as he never came out of his rage).

Is the OSX version of this game faulty as well as lacking all of the later DLC?

Apologies if this topic has been raised before -I always try searching the forums before posting a potentially dumb question, but search doesn't seem to work very well and I haven't found anything.

Happy New Year, by the way!

to level up as a warlock you have to be of any evil or chaotic alignment. it's not a bug but the rules^^

I don't know much about the Mac version, but does it include SoZ? If it's NWN2 Platinum it will do, but if you just have the basic game with no expansions (I don't know if they actually sell that any more, mind) you won't be able to get the Hellfire Warlock.

Thanks for the quick response!

You were right Arkalezth and Semper, my alignment had shifted from Chaotic to Lawful without me spotting it. I'll have to go off and find something illegal to get involved in fast!

I'm not sure what's included in the app store version of NWN (the site doesn't spell out the details), but judging by the feedback, it's the basics only. :-(

Hopefully more Mac users will be introduced to the game as I was and Aspyr will port across some of the DLC too.

Thanks again for the help.

The Mac version of NWN2 was published by Aspyr and they never did MotB or SoZ, so those aren't included with the Mac App Store version. Mac players who want the expansions have to buy the windows versions and install them onto the Mac using workarounds.
