Just a quick question.
Would you buy DA:3 on release date?
I know the release is a long way away yet, so there is plenty of time for me to get hyped for it, but after my disappointment of DA:2, I am currently considering holding back a few weeks until the game is pre-owned.
This is partly to save money on a potential disappointment (who here HASN'T bought a crap game for full price and felt a fool?) and also partly as a F-U for DA:2.
Anyway, just wondering about your opinions on this
Would you buy DA:3 on release date?

We'll see what preview\\demo and trailers will show. If there'll be another japanese-like pseudo-RPG, similar to Dragon Age 2, then no.

Totally depends on what i see on trailers, demos, playtroughs and so on.
If there is another thing like the Signature Edition, that you had to buy before a date (and this date was like 3 months before the release), this i will not buy again for sure.
For ME3 for exemple, i have my CE edition pre order since august i think, but that is because that BW team has not let me down so far.

I'll most likely pre-order it when that option is available.

Since I don't purchase than many full price games, I would probably preorder it.

DA3 is like a lover...or maybe a burglar. Either it ravishes you or makes off with all your jewelry. And you have to run it down and stab it in the heart

I'm going to put it at the top of my queue on Gamefly the week it comes out. So I'm not sure if that counts.

As it stands now, I will not do that. If it goes into the direction of DA2 then maybe I'll buy it on a sale. If it still has Origin as a distribution medium which collects unknown data from my computer and thus violates my privacy then I won't buy it at all.

No way. They'd have to release some amazing info and follow it up with amazing demonstrations of the game in action for me to buy it at launch. After DA2, I'm not buying into any of their marketing BS cause thats all it was for DA2.
Even then I'll wait until the likes of Rock Paper Shotgun review it before at most catching it as a Holiday Steam sale bargain basement price...then again, DA3 probably won't be on Steam and stuck as an Origin exclusive so, then I'm back to no way.

Whether I buy the game or not is fully dependent on information I don't have. I'll buy it if it looks good.

No way, I'm waiting till it's in the bargain bin and I'll only buy it then so I can use it as toilet paper. Expensive, hard toilet paper. Then I'll use it as a coaster. Take that!

In the UK games are normally released on Friday
Because of work, my main buying is in the weekend or during late-night shopping on Thursday
So probably the day after it is released

No. I will investigate player character first. If it doesn't have character creation and in anyway hint that it employes predefined character like Ezio in Assassin's Creeds, Michael Thorton in Alpha Protocol, Cloud Stirfe in Final Fantasy or Geralt in The Witcher or even anything remotely cloesly resemble Sheppard in Mass Effect and Hawke in Dragon Age 2, I will not buy it. I only role-play my own character like NeverWinter Nights, Neverwinter Nights 2, all TES, Dragon Age Origins, Fallout III, Fallout: New Vegas, Realm of Arkania, Drakensang, and all classic D&D Wizard of Coast TSR Forgotten Realm RPG games. I know BioWare will not return to silent protagonist, so I will find out how flexible Player Character in term of voice acting and dialogue system. There is no point buying an RPG if you can't role-play the character. I have wasted my money on so many RPG that I can't role-play. So I'll be very cautious this time. As a result I don't buy TW 2 and HR despite I know they are both have good story and character.Prinnyruler wrote...

Also Story. As long as I can influence the story it would be sufficient. Choices that don't matter is not acceptable..

Ummm.No. See way too many problems with games on launch day to go out and get another. I think I'll give it a few months.

No chance in hell unless their marketing department made a U-turn, i.e. lots of positive information early on backed up with live in-game footage proof and preferably a demo covering CC and the whole equivalent of Ostagar at gold status. And even than I'd probably wait a couple of weeks for others' impressions. I do like limited editions, but I don't need to have them.
