Hell no >,< .... I will patiently wait for 3 - 4 positive comment from friends who actually play the game.
And then maybe I will buy it.

No pre-order; no day one buy. Will take a look a many reviews prior to deciding whether to purchase at all. DA2 was not what I was looking for from Dragon Age after being introduced to RPGs through DA Origins.

I plan to. I loved Origins and really like 2, so I have no reason not to buy 3 on release.

The only thing I am ruling out is an early pre-order ala: signature edition, i.e., before drm/origin/gameplay details are known.

A new-copy sale will be considered provided that I can either not install Origin, or else Origin's TOS have changed to prevent EA scanning files it has no legitimate business scanning. And that there's no SecuROM or recurring online activations /install limits etc.

Assuming that I'll be buying the game new at all, a release day sale will depend greatly on whether I greatly like what I'm seeing and hearing with regards to DA3 marketing. And whether John Epler personally vouches for the veracity of those marketing claims. ;)

And if a new-copy sale is ruled out by DRM/Origin shenanigans, then I'll eventually buy a secondhand copy for console instead.

Just a quick question.
Would you buy DA:3 on release date?

I know the release is a long way away yet, so there is plenty of time for me to get hyped for it, but after my disappointment of DA:2, I am currently considering holding back a few weeks until the game is pre-owned.

This is partly to save money on a potential disappointment (who here HASN'T bought a crap game for full price and felt a fool?) and also partly as a F-U for DA:2.

Anyway, just wondering about your opinions on this

No.  I'll probably just rent it if I even get around to playing it.

Oh yes! I'll be pre-ordering. I love both DAO and DA2 and can't wait for the story to continue (though I hope there's more DLC for DA2 first).

I also hope there might be a good Collector's Edition like there is for ME3, maybe even with physical stuff (maybe a book, map or statue) as well as just DLC.

It depends entirely on the information Bioware releases. That being said, I've enjoyed most Bioware games I have purchased, including DA2, so there is a good chance I will preorder DA3 and pick it up on release date.

I'll preorder unless they turn it into a third person shooter with bows or a boring elder scrolls game with no plot or interesting characters

I want to see gameplay trailers, reviews, and a demo before I give judgement on whether to pre-order or not.

Unless they change it into a rhythm game and call it Dragon Age 3: Dance Revolution, I'll likely pre-order it.

The thing that got me interested in Dragon age was origins, so:

If it doesn't have either multiple races or origins then I won't be buying it at all.

If it does have races and origins I'll definately buy right away.

If it either has race choice but no origins or origins but no race choice I probably wont buy right away and whether or not I buy it will depend on how the rest of the game is looking.

You know, I don't think we've had a good rhytm game in a couple of years.....It could make a killing.
