I'm definitely in the camp that says DA2 was overly rushed. That's an understatement, really, and the problems with it are both glaring and far too excessive to be waved off with the usual excuses, such as game mechanics/story segregation.
However badly it was executed, thought, I found the story itself to be excellent. I also think that the spectacular failure of DA2 to live up to its predecessor's fan success got Bioware's attention, so I have a lot of hope that DA3 will be done with that in mind. So I expect DA3 to have the same story quality anyway, and have high hopes that some, at least, of DA2's problems, will be fixed.
I also don't blame Bioware for EA's issues. I'm not going to make the problems worse by withholding money that Bioware needs in order to continue making great games. People can't expect Bioware to improve upon its games, or retain the same calibre as Origins, if Bioware lacks funding to do so.

ROFL. Don't fool yourself into thinking you're saving money that way.
The DA2 pre-release was $60. That includes the $15 dlc, given that otherwise, $45 for a new game is about typical.

Yes, but actually I'll be pre-ordering it just like I did DA2.

I agree entirely. Despite the obvious (and painful) flaws it still had good in it, I still found it a decent game that just failed to reach its full potential and with how bioware has shown itself to listen to its fanbase I find it highly unlikely for bioware to repeat its mistakes, at least mechanically.
And if they do, well there we go.

I liked Hawke better then any of my wardens as i had a personality, your speech choices define who you are and how you come across to everybody with your tone. in Origins you chose the text options to find out info and get the job done, with very few options for roleplay...
PC's development was better, NPC's lacked the social interactions that origins had, you could only speak if the character had something to say.
So long as i get the social interactions back, and i can develop a personality again, i will be happy with the game because i completely trust Bioware to gave us a fantastic story, and the story is the main part of any game for me, they had great stories in all 3 DA games and both of the ME games too.

Just a quick question.
Would you buy DA:3 on release date?
I still have not bought "Dragon Age II". When "Dragon Age: Origins" was a hot item, I did not buy the game for a good two years. We are closing in on the one year release of "Dragon Age II".
Since the pc version's price has fallen to $19.99 at BesyBuy, I may end up buying it sometime this week. I am a little worried about what BioWare will due to celebrate the one year anniversary. If I end up buying the game now, while its on sale, I may miss out on buying a special edition in March.
Something to think about.

DAII is so my favorite game ever (waaaay better than Origins to me). If they "mix" the two, I'm a little afraid of it though, but just seeing the characters again...

No $45 for a new game is no longer typical. All the new games are coming out at $59.95 like Skyrim, and the forthcoming Kingdom of Alamur. The day of the $45.00 game has come and gone.

BTW, what happened to Dragon Age: {version}, i.e., Dragon Age: Origins. That worked much better for me.
Anyway, back to topic. If the user feedback and reviews are positive, I'll get DA 3 after release. If they are akin to or the game looks similar to DA 2, I won't bother, even at a vastly discounted rate. Frankly, I would not want it even as a gift.
Needless to say, DA 2 left a very ill aftertaste upon my gaming palate, but I have hopes that Bioware/EA will take Dragon Age 3 in a better direction. Still, those hopes are not enough to buy blindly or on the marketing word of Bioware/EA.

DA2...
Even worse, it came out in the same year with TW2 and Skyrim, both of which made DA2 look like Tetris.
It pains me to say this because I am such a fan of DA:O and retain some hope for the Dragon Age series, but your statement is perhaps the most apt comparison I've seen to date between these games.

As far as I can tell, unless they get their crap together and put out a game with the quality they've been known for, then I see this one most likely as a rental for myself.

My experience with DA2 (and to a degree, also with ME2) is why I am also not pre-ordering ME3 until I get thoughts and opinions of it, from sources I trust.
