I think it's clearly disingenuous to say that her love is natural or formulaic as humans know it to be. She, much like Tali, have a hero worshiping complex when it comes to Shepard. That level of idolizing isn't something that's attributed to a relationship. Its clear that either they're incapable of comprehending the concept of love, or they're more accurately acting like a child with a crush on a movie star or an adult who's seemingly perfect in their eyes.

The whole Tali "romance" plays out like Shepard scoring a fawning groupie for the night who's concerned about catching an STD.

Yes, very naive on both counts. Actually Tali's romance isn't that far removed from Liara's in ME1. Also, the fact that they act and behave so innocent and either touch on their fear of stds or losing their virginity makes your Shepard seem like he's taking advantage of some teenage girl with a crush. I'm glad LOTSB gave her personality a belated maturing it needed, but she still has some ways to go before she's feels like an adult.

I'm not sure the devs were thinking about anyone other than Sheps who were close friends or romances. If your Shep isn't one of the two she can come across as really damn creepy.

She's a cancerous tumor that won't go away. They have us go through all that trouble ot make her the SB only to shoehorn her into becoming a squadmate in ME3 regardless making the whole thing pointless.

You know, that's a really good point. They made a lot of fuss about LOTSB like it was ME2.1, yet she's a squadmate in ME3? What was the point of that huge DLC then? They should done it as Ash/Kaidan's Spectre test mission or remove her from the ME3 permanent squad roster, to maintain some coherence with the story line.
