haha, it's inevitable this will post here so I'll just do it.

From the preview: For developer Bioware, Mass Effect 3 offers the opportunity to include a feature its fanbase has long been crying out for - multiplayer.
.
This is funny...
.
btw. I actually wanted mp in ME3.

Here was me thinking lying was prohibited in the media.

It's just one of those things you can't call a lie. It may as well be one, but the boards are a minimal portion of the entire fanbase, and multiplayer requests were most probably pouring in from other feedback sources.

I've never met any Mass Effect fan who demanded Multiplayer. Not in internet boards, not in person. And I know quite a lot.

Irrelevant. You don't know all of them. I'm not making arguments on either side, you just can't talk against claims based on statistics, regardless of them being correct or not.

I'm not saying that statistics are incorrect, I say they are pure invention. MP wasn't demanded in boards, wasn't demanded by reviewers, wasn't demanded in the comments in review pages, wasn't demanded here, wasn't demanded neither in Biowares FB account neither in any of their twitter accounts.  No matter how deep you search, there's no trace of people crying out for it.

Every time fanbases demand something it's easy to see it, because there's plenty of discussion about. This time the only discussion anyone could see before the announcement was "BW, please, no multiplayer". That's why even BW denied all the rumors until the day it was officially announced.

I'm not denying that now there are quite a few people happy with the idea of multiplayer (and quite a few unhappy), but before it was announced there was none crying out for MP.

Actually, there were people who started threads along the way asking for multiplayer. They were usually met with vitriol an from the more vocal SP RPG purists.

Wow her outfit is a nice cross between a labcoat and a suit of armor, scaled armor at that.

I approve.

I am always wary against any multiplayer that cannot be done on the same console.

They tweaked the face a bit but didn't touch the armour it seems.

Her outfit has always been like that since LotSB.

Wow. Nice one.:?

I remember the boards post-ME2 launch, threads asking for and even "confused" at the lack of a multiplayer component were something of a common occurence from new players to the series.

Xbox.com, Gamepot, and some other general forums asked for multiplayer as well.  My bestfriend in the U.S. Army also wished there was a form of multiplayer so that, when off-duty, he and his friends can play with each other and communicate with friends back home.  I can say that he is fairly excited about the co-op mode.

There are more fans of the series than just the die-hard lore and RPG ones.  They deserve a say too, and it isn't fair to just write their opinion off as idiocy.

The multiplayer issue reminds me of the brouhaha when Uncharted 2 was announced to have multiplayer...

Given that the usual review of Uncharted 1 was considered good (but need polish), there were MANY fans not wanting MP (and especially given the Indiana Jones/Tomb Raider flavour pf the game I have to admit I myself was skeptical) since it was believed that MP would distract from the SP campaign.

Uncharted 2 turned out pretty well wouldn't you agree?

Indeed it did.

It was easily one of my favorite multiplayer games in the PS3.

Wow I had to laugh out loud at this quote,
"Mass Effect 3 offers the opportunity to include a feature its fanbase has long been crying out for - Multiplayer"
I miss the part where we've been crying out for it.

I "borrowed" the picture of the multiplayer map from earlier in this thread and took a close look at the galaxy maps from ME1 and 2.  Using the swirly galactic arms as landmarks, I marked the approximate locations of hub worlds and major plot points from the first two games.  And I found out something a lot of you probably already guessed - the borders are a bit off.

It seems to me like most of ME1 took place in the Traverse, while most of ME2 was obviously in the Terminus Systems.  I'll probably end up re-drawing the borders on that pic myself later, when I have the time.

It did.  It was mentioned in the dialogue a few times.  E.g.,  "Your style served you well in the Traverse, Commander..."  Also, that image is awfully tiny.  That or Photobucket is broken and not allowing me to see the full size version.

When I pull the actual version up on my computer, it says it's 2046x1874.  I don't know why it got tiny.

We all know BioWare shoehorned in multiplayer to try and appeal to shooter fans, not the fans of the series.

No fans called out for multiplayer. There have been a few that wanted it, but that's a far cry from the fanbase clamoring for it.

The fanbase seems split right down the middle, and its very dangerous as it'll likely affect profit in a negative way.

It's been pretty clear that lately BioWare cares more about snagging potential new fans than pleasing the existing ones, no matter what they claim.

Because they know the existing ones, no matter what they claim, will buy the last episode, because, they played the two first episode. xD

They have less chance with the news fans, that's why they focus on them.

I like how they're calling Cerberus a "possible" terrorist organization just like a nuke possibly can kill 90% of the population in its blast zone...Cerberus is no possible THEY ARE a terrorist organization. Miranda and TIM can sugar coat it and look the other way all they want it doesn't change the facts.

Liara is wearing a breather mask on page for why the hell did you bring that fashion trend back BW? She better be in a lab only with that stupid thing or she, Miranda, and the whole breather gang should explode in space and melt in hazardous zones!

Also Garrus's head looks to be like someone else's head got put in as the place holder and if they do intend for Garrus to have face paint his markings have changed.

I also noticed how it now won't matter if you refused your spector status back in 2 apparently even those who declined it will auto get it for 3 so what was the point in allowing people to say no? Just for the sake of it?

Ok positives...um they haven't told us much new other then We've been ordered to go tell the Alliance council that Earth has been attacked where did the actual council go for those who kept hem alive? And then they say we go to Mars first.
