Maybe "inner Council space" is space of original Council races, while "outer Council space" is volus / elcor / hanar / drell?

One little thing that had me surprised is Liara's breathing mask. And lack of helmet on James and Shepard. Guys are too cool for oxygen?

well you can turn helmets off and on now right?  i guess that goes for breathing masks too...

It's political map pre-ME3.

Oops. Where did they specify that? In that case, I'm probably wrong, sorry.

Well, maybe not entirely. They'll still find reasons to not answer. That much I can guarantee :)

They didn't, but in ME3 big part of galaxy is Reaper territory, which we didn't see anywhere.

Plus in bottom of that political map it's description for each place.

And others, there is supposed to be dozens of species living in council space after all. Volus are in the turians hierarchys terratory most likely, since they are it's client race.

Let's not forget that the krogan live pretty near the Citadel too, inside Council space, tough they want nothing to do with the Council or Citadel species, so they are technically a Terminus species. Another example how you really cant draw borders like this accurately across the galaxy.

So do your decisions from the first 2 games matter at all if your just play enough side missions and multiplayer to get your readiness full? If thats the case, then the galactic readiness thing is a fail.

fingers crossed, hoping that they have some decisions from first 2 games that get imported that have a positive/negative effect on the galactic readiness level....

ie...saving rachni gives you 2 points or whatever.... or saving the collector base gives you 8 points....

much like the importing worked with your paragon/renegade levels (and cash/elements) into ME2....

Just noticed that Liara's mask continues as "padding plating" of one of her "tentacles"

How can the Collector base give you 8 points if it goes to Cerberus, which are the enemy? Id say it's rather minus 8 points.

I doubt Turian hierarchy would be considered "inner council space". Remember, the turians were discovered AFTER all of the races except the Drell...

Hmm..now how to resolve the map...Given the limitations of drive discharge, it doesn't make sense to just have "areas" since it literally impossible for the council races to claim areas too far from relays without nearby planets...

Perhaps council space refers to the actual area that is set aside for the council itself and NOT the various races? ME made clear that the council does NOT actually control the various goverments and is in fact, holds relatively little power...

Isn't that the multiplayer map ? I have have seen this on the mp menu from the leak.

I think it's just a way to categorize the mp maps and have no real relevance in the sp.

Who said that map was canon? Arbitrary political boundaries based on spacial location are pretty meaningless, considering that the result of mass relay-based exploration is "a number of densely-developed clusters thinly spread across the vast expanse of space, connected by the mass relay network."

I was wondering when this would show up. This is the first in a series of new articles that should be appearing soon from the press we had here last month. Hopefully there'll be some new details in there for you.

Please do not use images form the leaked beta version of the game. They are not representative of the final product, so we do not want the confusion here. Thanks.

Hope there will be, the way you guys tweeted back then sounded like some big reveal or major new feature presentation yet the article in Gamer only had old info :( At least there's new Vega screen <3

Yvonne Strahovsky is confirmed as a VA now, that's nice. There was a growing mordin style concern with here based on silence.

Sounds promising... the release date is only slightly more than two months away, it'd be good to hear new info.

Actually from the way they word it on the map the "inner" council space is just the immediate area around the citadel and thus the center of government for the combined races. The spaces themselves don't have any restrictions on species mentioned.
