We're not on the rim, the Orion Spur (the arm the Sun is part of) is much closer to the galactic core.

We're actually about two arms in:

That little pocket is probably the Batarian Hegemony, or Reaper-occupied space now.

Damn, the Local Cluster in the ME map is way off.

Not really. We are currently passing through the Local Interstellar Cloud (LIC) (which itself is part of the Orion Spur), which doesn't contradict the in-game depiction. The "Local Cluster" in Mass Effect is also similar in appearance to what the LIC looks like, as in the picture:

The Sun is expected to remain here for another 20,000 years.

I'm starting to regret criticizing the character-driven type game we got in ME2. I'm wondering if anything like that will ever return to the ME series. I'm looking at this multiplayer sh*t... and I find myself not caring in the least.

Screw the Jersey Shore naysayers. Vega's looking pretty hot and awesome.

Sounds like my online character can be added to the Normandy crew. That's great!

Not sure what gave you that idea.  It says a fully leveled co-op character can be added to your list "War Resources".  Don't know about you, but "list" doesn't suggest "hangs out on the ship" to me.

... Really? I must've missed that memo, I guess.

I think most of us missed that memo.  Call it "poetic license" by the article author...

BTW, the PDF format makes it really easy to copy the images directly, instead of using some tool to crop them out.  Here:

I left out the ones that aren't from ME3 or available elsewhere, though I did include the crops they made from existing material.

ETA: Got rid of the ones already posted last page

It looks like they were really impressed by the AI.
I hope it is as smart as they described.

Maxing out your multiplayer character's level adds them as a war resource in single player.  That's new to me.

We've known that for months.

But we didn't know about the apps.

Uh... Yes we did. Once again, mentioned with the announcement.

After seeing that map I can see why the Terminus Systems outweight Alliance/Council space.

So the Traverse is what....neutral? I never understood what it was

Same. I really wish BioWare would make a high detail Galactic Map like this with all the Systems in their right places. I love things like this and it would be really cool to know exactly where and how much territory every species owns. They could've put it in the CE as a poster too. Could go right next to my Skyrim map. :wizard:

No: we have our colonies scattered about in that region, more or less corresponding to how the known relay network is laid out there.  Most of it is unexplored and/or uninhabited.

I'd also like a galaxy map that specifies which zone I'm in or which faction the system I'm currently in belongs to.

I think you already know that I realise that.   Getting very hard to have a joke around here even with a giant laughing smilie in the post.  You would think that would give it away...    ahhh well :P
