We control that much of the Galaxy already?

No wonder the other species dont like us much.  Were expanding faster then the Krogan

We dont really control that area fully, we just have colonies in clusters that about determine the rough borders of that area, 99% of it is still unexplored systems and undiscovered planets. Imagine how those "borders" would change if you discovered an intelligent species or two in that area, finding a mass relay into human controlled systems and suddenly appearing with a fleet of their own and batch of colonized worlds.

Point is, you cant draw real borders in space. Humans also have colonies in terminus systems. It's a random cluster of dots all over the galaxy, for humans at least, which is why defending them is kinda hard. Humans are new and everything is exciting to them, so many of them have a bit of a frontier mind and new colonies just pop up like that, tough it does come with a cost. Like all those raiders attacking new and poorly defensed colonies.

Other species are older so colonizing has come a little more reserved for them.

oh god this is horrible, its like some cheesy gossip mag.
"FRIENDS OR MORE? Liara has been romantically linked to shepard"
"GOOD SHEPARD? Some question if shepard is still with cerberus"
Are you kidding me?
And they named the purple armoured turian garrus *facepalms*
That liara part really gets me though, the way its written, its just so cringy.

Blue = Safe

Green = Relatively safe.

Yellow =  Probably better if you bring guns with you.

Red = You will more than likely die.

IMO.

thats funny i hope in multiplayer we will be able to change the colors of these areas since were going to be able to work together to make it easier for our SP game. Like if we make the area around the earth "safer". But i would assume that, the area around earth is going to be really hard on multiplayer. so if anyone wants help my gamertag is cronosfire

I hope this "Earth Alliance" crap is a mistake. I would hate to see the game delayed or killed altogether by potential legal entanglements. It's happened to others before. :(

The multiplayer and galaxy at war stuff looked interesting. Every detail either single player or multiplayer just makes my desire to play worse.
While it was interesting, I couldn't help but notice a bunch of small factual inaccuracies in a few places.
1. They said that galaxy at war replaces mining(false)
2. They said planet scanning was in ME1(false)
3. They said that players wanted multiplayer(false, I want it, but many others don't)
4. They said that turian in purple armor was garrus(false)
5. They said Shepard might be working for Cerberus(false)

I think their information is accurate(given to them by bioware) but I don't think any of them have played Mass Effect, so they got some stuff wrong.

Why would that cause legal entanglements?

It wouldn't. Nerds People like to extrapolate disaster from non-issues.

Who says that it's representing the Systems Alliance?

The Systems Alliance isn't in any shape to control anything, let alone a fourth of the galaxy map.

Interesting hint in regards to some "superweapon" of sorts found in Mars.

However, the article makes me wonder more about the "readiness meter"

For example, if killing off the Rachni turns out to be a bad decision, I could negate the consequences by playing coop with my friends and therefore raising my readiness meter to perfection regardless of my mistakes?

Not sure if I'm a fan of that at all...

Bioware said you can get the perfect readiness without ever touching mp, something about doing all the side quests you find.

Lets face it.  MP is the answer to the question "Wait.  If Renegade was always the bad choices, how can I get a good ending?"

The article is just a major rehash of known info.  Boring in otherwords, at least to me.

the best ending would be winning the war with the minimal amount of losses possible im guessing, going the renegade should allow you to acheive that with the difference being that different people/races die and survive.

I was intrested in that map of the galaxy that shows all the major regions, tough you really cant map a galaxy like that, the mass relays make the "borders" loose if not non existant.

Rivers help to define the boundaries of territories and often ignore them, but they don't actually prevent them from being established. Also, you'll notice that the Normandy travels within clusters sans relay. FTL suffices in many cases.

I left out the ones that aren't from ME3 or available elsewhere, though I did include the crops they made from existing material.

ETA: Got rid of the ones already posted last page

These look awesome, but I'm wondering if that map has any real standing in Mass Effect lore (so to speak) or if it's just something the people from the magazine came up with.

Screw the Jersey Shore naysayers. Vega's looking pretty hot and awesome.

Agreed. I love his look.

I haven't read the entire thread, but has nobody mentioned/nerd-raged about the fact that Liara is wearing the breather mask again? Y'know, as opposed to a proper helmet that would facilitate not dying from vacuum exposure...

Edit: Nevermind. Just found an entire thread devoted to this very topic. I'm sorry that I was so silly as to think this would go unnoticed.

well, interesting screenshots, but the writer of this article has no idea what the frakk he's talking about. i'm definitely glad that i'm subscribed to game informer, their article was way better, and actually told us things we hadn't been hearing on every update for the past two months
