Bioware has one of the most devoted fanbases.  The problem is that Bioware no longer seems devoted to the same things as it's fanbase.

If the fanbase was truly devoted, they'd "deal with it". BSN isn't a fanbase. It's a suggestion box for absurd ideas/demands.

If you read the leaked docs then you'd know that only those absurd ideas/demands actually made it into the game.

I'll wait to see the game before I pronounce it a failure and begin writing conspiracy theory threads about how EA doesn't care about the fans and intends to make millions of dollars by forcing Bioware to produce games that nobody wants.

I think there are worse maybe not as crazy but worse. Although some of the BioDrones have to be the most devout fans I've ever seen.

The weird part is sometimes they throw a lotto with the suggestion box. They raffle up the suggestions and then pick one out of the box and just go with it.

Bioware in a nutshell.

It's certainly trivial compared to far greater disregard for established lore like the ME2/Retribution Cerberus bits and the Batarian plot buildup of Arrival so that the former can turn into a Reaper allied superpower.

Bioware has several different fanbases who don't even speak the same language. And the poor bastards are trying to sell the same game to all of them

Look at the Cerberus threads for example where you have people who want TIMs manbabies and think he has to be a good guy, because he has the same glowing blue eyes as the main bad guy from the first game. *facepalm* And these people war endlessly with the people who are capable of recognizing Dr. Evil even when he isn't bald.

Likewise in this thread the two camps are "Since pixels are pixels, why not use a helmet, you know like you did in the first game, and as any toddler would expect?" vs "I don't care what they look like as long as I can shoot husks and pick up blue chicks!"

For the most part, they can't win. There is litterally no choice which doesn't ****** somebody off.

In this case I really don't understand why you would ignore the fans who want something since the strongest oppostion is "I don't care so long as I got my pew pew!" Unless maybe they have a secret movie deal going with Micheal Bay, and they aren't allowed to obscure a heroes face? Nah.... Image IPB

I bought every game Bioware made up until DA2 and yeah, I probably would have gone on Crusade if the doctors had called for it.  But the cool-aid started tasting a little funny when they started releasing info about DA2.  I'm almost certainly all in for ME3 because of how much I already have invested in Shepard's story, but even so, I'm going to wait to hear which way the wind is blowing so I know whether it's worth full price to finish the fight.  After that, all bets are off.  Bioware is going to have to show me something.  And you can bet that if they are losing me, they are losing others as well.  Of course, they're betting that they'll get 10 more for every one of me and maybe they aren't wrong.  I guess we'll see.

I'm very comferted by the fact that a company can create a game so great that the only things people can ***** about are minor trivial crap like breathing masks.

The other week, a s/s thread hit 35 pages in a night.

Yeah but the last 15 pages were spent on building quotes pyramid lol

As a substantial portion of this thread has been spent discussing its length and not on-topic, it's still comparable.

I wonder who the operators were.

The problem with the breathing masks I've seen is that they don't look functional at all. They aren't attached to anything (so using them in space makes no sense) and they don't appear to have a filtration system of any kind.

Is it ignorant if I want to blame all the missteps on BioWare being acquired by EA?

Not after the mod that banned everyone in that thread removed all the evidence.

Seriously Terror. Deal with it.

Not exactly the best way to support your game.

Why not? We like the breathing masks as evident by them returning. Terror doesn't, which is fine, but they aren't going to change. There are elements in ME that are not 100% science. These are done because teh team likes the way they look or work in ME. While not 100% good science, we feel they make for good game.

So... deal with it.

You can explain all incorrect science with the words "mass effect fields".

I guess "Eezo did it" sounds better than "A wizard did it"
