The other week, a s/s thread hit 35 pages in a night.
Yeah but the last 15 pages were spent on building quotes pyramid lol
As a substantial portion of this thread has been spent discussing its length and not on-topic, it's still comparable.
I wonder who the operators were.
That's a good question; we may never know the answer.

Not after the mod that banned everyone in that thread removed all the evidence.
Indeed; still, those people, whoever they were, that created that pyramid did a truly great thing.

Indeed. It was quite a sight to behold for its brief eistence before it as demolished.
I wonder if there will ever be another pyramid like it.

Why can't my femshep have TIM's child?
Because you'ld be on maternity leave when the Reapers arrived. It's hard to fit into your armour while 7 months preggers.
Unless they replaced that portion of your armour with a mass effect field. ... I dunno, do you think Shepard would look silly going into battle with a bare midriff while pregnant? If so, do you still support breathmasks? (Hah! Back on topic!)
Clearly having his child is more important to her than saving the galaxy.
Well no problem then. FemShep, TIM and their baby get to spend eternity together. In the belly of a Reaper after they are broken down into grey goo. Probably fashion choices will matter little at that point.

Terror_K is absolutely right about this, its just one more drop in quality amidst all the rest.
Mass Effect 1 was an awesome Sci-Fi game, with a great setting and atmosphere. I almost felt like a astronaut sometimes when I played, exploring the uncharted worlds.
Mass Effect 2 was all about guns and ******. I like guns and ******, but I'll play Duke Nukem for those. When I play Mass Effect I want some damn Sci-Fi.
That's not an issue of quality to me, IMHO. It's more of an issue of immersion and aesthetics, tbh.
I'm just glad that there are only very few areas in ME2, where having a fully sealed would seem an abolute necessity and I only bring certain companions along from those sections now anyway.

That being said, I agree with a lot of people here believing that there must be a creative way for implementing good looks on the sensate solution. That is, good-looking helmets.
I do wonder why BW has decided to opt for breathing masks, though...whatever, I'm off.

This.
And I guess "The illusive man" sounded better than "The tax-evasive man".

Not saying there isn't a happy medium, but seriously, you can't just slap a helmet on Jack. The girl's topless. So you would have to come up with a whole suit of -armor- for Jack, that looks unique and fits her personality, and that requires dev time. So like I said, it's about where their priorities were, and you can disagree about what their priorities -were-, but you can't present analogies that make it out like the devs were deliberately messing up their game "to look cool".
But that's the argument being presented.Chris Priestly wrote...
These are done because teh team likes the way they look
With an acknowledgement that it's not logical.
So they are being silly for the sake of looks. You can of course argue that the looks make it all worth it, I am not arguing against that. Doesn't change the fact that it's silly.
Of course a lot of things in ME are silly. Which brings me back to my original argument that just because a lot of things were silly, doesn't mean we need to make it sillier, especially when the whole thing is just for looks (and I find them very ugly in any case).
Yeah, that's a fair cop.
I would be willing to bet, however, that given the time and resources to do whatever they wanted, the devs would be happy to have included helmeted/suited and unsuited looks for all of the squaddies in ME2 (and we still don't know that they haven't in ME3), but given limited time and development resources, they chose the option that best suited what they wanted to get out of the game (which was distinctive squaddie looks)
My point is, they had a choice between two paths that both accomplished things that everybody would like to see in the final game, and they picked one.

I can see that. It would be a real pain in the ass once TIM achieves goal Q, to have every man, woman, and child of the human race be able to trace him as their nearest common ancestor. Then Cerberus really would be humanity.

FAIL. Mass effect is going to Bomb, a crap game ruined By EA which wants to attract the call of duty crowd. Breathing masks are another proof that bioware don't care anymore about the story, and its true devoted fanbase. If they really listen to us, they wouldn't do such a crap again.SpiderFan1217 wrote...
I'm very comferted by the fact that a company can create a game so great that the only things people can ***** about are minor trivial crap like breathing masks.
FAIL. I can prove half your arguement wrong by simply pointing out how many awards the game has won. I can also invalidate your claim that EA is trying to get the Call of Duty crowd by pointing out that EA already has Battlefield 3 to compete with Call of Duty. Not to mention the fact that none of the Mass Effect games even remotely resemble Call of Duty. Also, if helping to publish a game that has won over 70 perfect review scores is how EA ruins a game. They need to just buy out everything cause no one will be able to compete.
