Well he shouldn't cure it in the way that Krogans breed like crazy and swarm the galaxy with their offspring. That was the problem we had to begin with. But getting them a normal birth rate like humans seems reasonable.

This doesn't make sense. Curing them isn't going to magicically summon a hoard of battle ready Krogan. There will just be a crap load of babies for them to take care of. You might as well just clone them. 

Many krogan are concentrating on keeping the species alive or are pissed off about the genophage. Curing the genophage gains the krogan's trust, secures their future, frees up the females (who are also battle-capable), and leaves them with a clear head for battle and to prove themselves as krogan. There's your army! But yeah I wouldn't even think about curing the genophage under Wreav.

The thing about krogans is that i DO think their birth rate needs to be reduced but not by causing them to birth dead babies. No one deserves that.

Its just traumatizing and plain CRUEL. lower the egg cell creation rate or sperm count, but don't make them produce piles of dead infants.




On the krogans though, i think that they really NEEDED to have their culture destroyed and rebuilt. Look at the krogan's on their Tchunka-- most of them have very skewed moral concepts and are obsessed with fighting, because thats all they've ever been taught in their traditions.

But the krogans who've LEFT their planet? Look at the one at illium producing POETRY for his girlfriend; or the polite one handling things for warehouses who thanks you for helping out his patron. Krogans can be very nice and civilized people, just they suffer when raised in their (Lets face it) flawed culture.

honour has a place in war when people forget that bad things happen. And that's the problem. They stopped perfectly good violence. Just think how high the death toll would have risen without the genophage! Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

That's all a part of the krogan nature. The salarians wanted a force to destroy the rachni and they were too irresponsible to consider the long term effects of suddenly introducing this nigh-invincible aggressive race to space travel and advanced weaponry.

Edit: Where does it say that krogans had a bunch of babies a year? I thought they just had like one baby at a time and they just get pregnant often. Krogans are biologically complex and live for over a thousand years so it doesn't really make sense for them to have litters or anything.

Now that's an unfair comparison. I'd even call it pure misanthropy. The First Contact War didn't even last an entire year and was peacefully and reasonably resolved rather than one side blasting the other into oblivion. And so far, I haven't seen any noteworthy Alliance personnel in the game who seemed battle hungry, bloodthirsty, arrogant or power hungry to me. A bit prejudiced, perhaps, but that's understandable.

They don't reproduce NEARLY as fast Krogans. So humans, and batarians are manageable.

So because its their nature we should let them take over? Sorry, but I don't lie down, and let people walk over me. Especially not for a dumb reason like "its in their nature". 

Also, its pretty much common knowlege that Krogan have tons of children, they're biologically built for numbers. The fact that they live for a thousand years only adds to that. Now do you see that the genophage was necessary?

The genophage is hardly comparable to birth control though, it's closer to genocide if you ask me. They are dieing out because of the inability to reproduce enough numbers to keep their species going.
