So, I finally got my girlfriend to play Mass Effect, but now we have another issue.

When she loads up the game we get this error message.

General Protection Fault!
History: GMatrix2d::Swap() Address = 0x10bb5676 (filename not found) [in C:\\Program Files\\Mass Effect\\Binaries\\MassEffect.exeAddress = 0x180412e4 (filename not found)

I've tried running it in Admin, including the Launcher, Config.exe and even MassEffect.exe the way I normally run it.
We've also looked into if it was allowed through the firewall... Which I obviously knew it was... But, I checked nuntheless... Both MassEffectGameLauncher and Mass Effect were allowed through the firewall. They is no Third Party firewall, either. As far as I know.

Right now, we're patching up to see if that fixes the problem.

Does anyone know how to fix this.

From what I can see there, it's saying that MassEffect.exe can not be found... It's right there, I can see it myself.

Other than that, maybe it's just the computer being an arsewipe and unable to locate it...

Any suggestions please? <_<

Thanks in advance. :D

Did you just copy the game over to her computer?

you have to actually install it.

Nope. She has my game disc and installed it herself. I wasn't there when she installed it.
Maybe, I should moniter her installing it while on TeamViewer.

1.01 patch didn't work.
So now we're installing 1.02.

Maybe this will fix it. If it doesn't we'll reinstall.

It does exist. Scroll down. Also read Gorath's thread on reporting problems there.

This thread has now been moved to where it belongs. The greatest majority of that particular error message rose out of some old nVIDIA graphics drivers from about two years ago, but a search, using Yahoo or Google, with a site redirector will find the old threads (just don't add comments to the oldies, leave them happily in their decayed, buried state).

Redirector for here:

site:social.bio.com

You will find that Intel's tinker toy video chips are equally faulty (or at least, the drivers are).

Its a graphics issue, going by the error message.

Either your drivers are too old, or your graphics hardware isnt up to scratch to be able to play the game. Read the "How To" thread and post accordingly, and we'll be able to pinpoint the problem.
