And here even I thought I was being hyperbolic saying people wanted Shepard to get maried or have sheppuppies. That's a bit creepy, and going a bit further than it definitely should. Some things should remain in the realm of fan fiction. I think BW would lose almost all of its mainstream audience if there was a pregnant Tali or Liara with Shepard on a backyard deck holding each other while wearing an ugly sweater and dad jeans.

Want to kill an epic? Have the hero become as mundane and boring as possible towards the end, and that's what marriage and child birth will do to Shepard.

I would agree with you if this weren't the definite end of Shepard's story (according to BW). But even Shepard him/herself tells Grunt that he/she doesn't "plan on living like this forever." Even if they don't show Shepard and/or his/her LI + possible kids, they should at least establish that he/she finally takes a well-earned retirement and settles down somewhere and attempts to have something of a normal life. At the very least they should make it a choice.

If Bioware sticks to this being the last game in Shepards adventure then we should get a choice to have a definitive ending for his/her tale, be that the galaxies doom, promoted into a desk job, retirement with or without kids.

Just something that tells us it's over.

You know what games did that right? DAO
and DA2. A bit of dialogue hinting at what could be once the turmoil
comes to an end. If I saw an actual screenshot of a pregnant Shepard, or
any LI it will literally be the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen in
cgi.

Just because Shepard plans on some kind of an eventual
retirement, I think its heavily implied once the Reaper threat is gone.
Some tasteful closing dialogue is more than enough to satisfy the story
portion of it.

I would be fine with a DA:O style epilogue screen with text telling us what became of our crew and/or us

And I'm fairly certain we'll get that, but I think someone, anyone getting pregnant as a result of the ending would be disjointed from the rest of the narrative.

Dialogue. Faithful Shepards should be able to express their loyalty to the relationship by saying things like, "Through it all, even when you couldn't follow me and I could no longer follow you, I was never with anyone else."

Too much extra content might feel like rewarding loyalists at the expense of on again/off again/on again mancers, who I don't really think are wholly at fault for becoming discouraged with their ME1 LI after the ickiness that was Horizon. However, dialogue can acknowledge and validate the kind of perseverance that loyalists have had to exhibit.

I have to wonder how many players didn't have at least one loyalist playthrough, even if their first one wasn't. I certainly did, ostensibly so I could see what such characters get come the end.
And then there's also the question of what characters who romanced no-one get. Given how vocal the community has been in support of their LIs, I'd very much like to see Bioware acknowledge those players for whom 'the mission came first' and held themselves above all this romancing business.

How could those people be recognized? During Anderson's commendation speech at the end of the game, he says, "... And he did it all without having sex with anybody!"?

The only way to win the game is with a pure neutral Shep who has no LI; sorry various factions. ~_^

For the pregnancy option,
All the ME 1 love interest are eligible while only Jacob, and maybe Jack, are possibly not sterile for ME 2. As for that being the perk, nah. I think it should happen if the player goes that route regardless because alot of once-unfaithful people have kids. lol. What I think should happen is that they have maybe 5 minutes of so to rekindle what they had from ME1.

By the way (male or female), is Shep sterile due to the whole dying at the beginning of ME2?

:pinched: When you said that, I had to go back and figure out what you meant by that.   All that is IMO, nothing factual. I just keep wondering if Shep's sprem is not just dead, and if female Shep's ovaries actually still release viable eggs because I don't think FemShep's use pads or tampons..nor have periods. Not that it would affect the mission or FemShep's choice of action during a mission if she is somewhat PMSing. ;) Plus I don't think Bioware would go out their way to show either Shep being able to produce children. I am just overthinking a simple question.

Don't think Jack nor Samara would be willing to do so. Ashley Kelly and Liara... *shudders* I suppose they'd be open to the idea.

Why do people want shepard to have a kid so badly?

My Shep wants kids.

Thank goodness he doesn't need to romance any of the LIs to do so in the ME universe. Just needs to grab Miranda's father's device.

He wants kids but he doesn't want them that badly.

So yes at the end of ME3 my Shep's gonna grow a baby and be a single dad. He wants a brat. He's sick of being alone and the human population will need rebuilding.

I don't want it that bad but it would be a nice addition to an (one of many) ending to see that Shep settled down and got someone or someone got her pregnant. Not that we'd want to see after 9 months of what the child would like compared to your Shep and L.I. - now that's overboard. Maybe another option of being on a clean-up crew by going thru systems with no time for family as another option aka the Shep we know and love.

Perk for staying "faithful"?
You mean a reward or consequence for having a single love-interest no longer apparently enough interested in you to join up?

This is quite enough:

(I was actually quite touched when I saw it the first time)

I always thought the "Perk" was to experience a great love story spanning a whole trilogy, with ups AND downs. Make the ending as awesome as possible for everyone.

I agree...I don't want for my Shep marriage and/or kids with any of her LIs..It's just will never work  with her personality and story for me. But while it's so important for others players I hope, that if BioWare will ever decide to include this kind of things in Shepard story, it wil be totaly optional and answer " NO" for a big question will  not mean end of relationship..Not everyone need marriage to stay with her/his partner and not everyone dreaming about kids.

Or better: the proposition for marriage could be totally serious and right before the final assault. Kinda like you know... let's get married NOW as we may not survive the night. Let's be spouses for the few hours left we may have to live. Awesome stuff.... Little ceremony, one kiss... a romantic and classy way to end the romance with a great scene. Probably won't happen though. Instead we will surely have some dry humping.

Na, no "dry humping" please.
I like your idea. And it fits, especially since Shepard and his/her LI have a tendency to go one step forward with their relationship at the eve of an important battle. Can see that coming.

Then again ... no. I fear it won't happen. Lets hope we won't see any "dry humping" instead of a romantic scene. :)
