Why would you buy the game twice?

Several reasons really:

1) I do believe BioWare deserves the extra income.
2) GameStop does not ship where I currently live so I'm having that sent home while I get the amazon copy in hand.
3) Additional set of CE codes can become bartering chips for additional preorder items I may be missing or a nice gift for a friend or two.

If the Argus rifle isn't going to Gamestop I'll just pull on over to Best Buy and buy one of the 5$ preorder boxes they've got(that's how I pulled in their preorder bonuses for Fallout 3).

The Argus doesn't sound that great to me after reading the description. Then again, as a Soldier and a Vanguard, my two Sheps do well enough in close quarters with their shotguns and the mattock.

Well even if I may not use it, I'd like to know it's there(heck, I didn't use any of the ME2 preorder things(largely because I couldn't remove the helmets) and I only used the AR from the CE).

the only thing that has me miffed is that the N7 arsenal is supposed to be part of the N7 edition swag but the N7;rifle is now a piece of store exclusive dlc

The N7 Defender armor looks amazing as it is so wouldn't mind a whole lot if I was able to costumize colors or equip separate pieces but yes the helmet removal option is essential and it does seem like they have it covered this time.

The Mattock started off as just another DLC gun and look how that worked out

Considering that the Argus Rifle looks a lot like the Mattock I will laugh heartily if it ends up outperforming it.

If I were to venture a guess, I'd say that the Amazon pre-order bonus will be the same as the Best Buy one (the Argus Rifle). I don't know where I read this, but I think that "M55" is the numerical designation for the Argus Rifle. That'll make things simpler for me.

Yes the Angus and the M55 are one and the same and so far only the french amazon site has confirmed this weapon besides best buy but you're probably right, all amazon sites are likely to carry the same bonus just like EB Games will likely carry GameStop bonus as they are one and the same.

Plaster your first two games with N7, make people buy the $20 more edition to get those items.

I certainly don't condone pirating full games but retailer exclusive DLC should be fair game. It really sucks when you want to use the items in-game and then ebay will be loaded with those same download codes.
