I like the bonuses but most in-game bonuses are only good for early game and then you swap them for something else. I personally don't mind not having all of them because chances are this will be the case. I do know that many want them to have them all/all ingame items and I am like that for things too.

I better pre-order at gamestop/EB, because the Terminus Armor and weapon dlc still hasn't been release in a pack, but the other pre-order dlcs have.  (but i never use the Terminus armor)

so I'll do that.

All retailers will never get the same bonus. At the very least that Retailer X can claim that their preorder bonus is cooler than the one from Retailer Y. Of course if you buy multiple copies, even better.

That we still haven't seen a GOTY edition of ME2 for PC/360 with the unreleased preorder bonuses, probably long after the exclusivity contract with the retailer expired, means people will be more likely to do the preorder.

It's about cash. The game industry exists to make a profit. (Don't blame the game devs who see little of this $$.)

It looks like some retailers are announcing items earlier than I thought they were going to.

We will have information, INCLUDING a list of all retailers offering DLC items, soon. I hope some time this week (but I can't promise that). Please do not start blaming X retailer for carryng or not carrying DLC items until you see the list of what is provided by whom.

The best present BioWare can give any fan this year is making sure that ALL these preorder bonuses end up on retail over XboxLive within a couple of months after ME3 releases Arkham City style....and I mean every last little preorder item.

They spelled right the only things that matter: N7 Rifle....that says everything right there to instantly convince every last living being on earth that they MUST preorder from gamestop to complete their CE weapon arsenal.

Aw come on! The pic supported my point and it was an answer to those who can't get this "thing".

Does the armor have a helmet?

Fun fact: if you extract the ME1 dialogue files, that's how his name is spelled on all his Normandy lines.

Seems to be a trend.  Watch the N7 unboxing video again:  the sniper rifle is named the "Valient".

The exclusivity period is probably more than just a few months. Of course I'm not privy to the contracts but I would be surprised if it is that short. Retailers aren't going to pay as much for something that will be made public in a few months.

They did in the case of Arkham City.....Mass Effect 3 is a billion times better. An exclusivity on the heavy content like GameStop's for just one week will render huge profits as long as fans aren't aware it will be placed on retail until the last second.

I hope they do the same with Origin.

And for the lovely Mod that has been editing my post for no reason at all, could you stop? Thanks.

The way Best Buy is handling codes is a bit worrying. I was able to get all the bonuses for ME2 as well thanks to eBay, but I don't recall if any of the retailers used that same method.

It's the way Gamestop <sigh> has handled the last few of their pre-orders; give the code on the receipt.  Best Buy used to give pre-order packaging, I know.  I think the first pre-order I remember the code being on the receipt for from Best Buy was Fallout: New Vegas.  I've already grumbled about the screwyness - not a word, I know - of vendor exclusive content.  here's hoping the Best Buy rifle becomes available as a part of a weapons pack.  I too pre-ordered at Gamestop; I held my nose as I did it but I did so before the announcement of the pre-order perks.

So when they do it that way, this is DLC that typically does not get sold on - say - eBay?

I don't buy games from retailers anymore. I buy from Good Old Games and Steam by preference. I dropped Impulse when I had so many technical problems with Dragon Age II that I had to use the EADM to be able to download and play the game. Other than that, there's the occasional purchase from Gamer's Gate due to sales.

I think my problem with this stuff is that it can be fairly cool (the M-490 Blackstorm, for example), which is meant to encourage people to purchase from that vendor, but long after that becomes irrelevant it never becomes purchasable DLC, as was the case with the Fallout: New Vegas preorder items (which I purchased a couple of months ago, IIRC - by then, most people who were going to had already played the game, and it was long enough that I think people who had the preorder bonuses really had nothing to complain about).

Agreed. Fallout: New Vegas preorder items were also released as DLC. After a time, the bonuses are no longer relevant as I think I said in an earlier post.

I wouldn't be surprised if Gamestop had some kind of "in perpetuity" thing going on, which would really suck.

FNV's were practically the last DLC released, including GS's.

As for "in perpetuity" that would all depend on the contract language the two parties work out.  it's possible, but there's some examples where that's not the case for other content.

Is it just me or do the pre-order guns look very similar to each other, almost like they're based on the Falcon gun? <_<
The Argus Rifle from bestbuy certainly seems to resemble the Falcon, though we probably have to wait for the game to ship to see the differences between them in action.

Fun fact 2: If you extract his head meshes, they have "Kaiden" in their names as well.

@ this type of extras in general: I guess it's me and my Locust alone again.
