*facepalm* They spelled "Valkyrie" wrong.

Seems to be a trend.  Watch the N7 unboxing video again:  the sniper rifle is named the "Valient".

Am I the only one who occasionally has an urge to beat poeple to a gory death with a spell checker?

Be careful, some people might take it as a serious threat :police:

Fun fact for the grammar police.....and the regular police too I guess....

Do you know that what is considered correct in terms of grammar, punctuation and yes even spelling changes over time? You should look up a little something called Old English and see how that compares to what we speak today. Then we have distinctions between American, UK and Canadian English too. So the whole "omg you spelled wrong" point carries little weight. Not to mention that the game is over 170 years in the future....I am willing to bet that the English people will speak in 170 years will be as alien to us as Old English is to what we speak today.

True I had to study Old English, Middle English on my university. That was a disaster, it really sound like a damend alien language. Good thing I brought easays for my exam

Well, that's great and true and all, DT, but it has little to do with what's correct right now. Also, as far as orthography goes, in ye olden days it was not even remotely standardized, nor was literacy widespread. That does not hold true anymore, so I wouldn't go counting on drastic spelling changes occurring anytime soon.

If language, grammar, spelling and punctuation are absolutely solid and set in stone at any one point in time then when do the changes happen? Changes happen because the norm of what most people use changed regardless of what the "correct" academic books say and slowly with each new print there are these tiny, nearly unnoticeable changes that occur between prints. Changes have beeen accepted for the next print since the last grammar police book was written that just haven't been printed yet but accepted. Language is never solid at any one point regardless of what the academics say.

I think y'all are missing the point.

The inability to spell correctly makes the developers look like a bunch of uneducated hippies from Canada.

OH WAIT.

The grammar cops are sure going to think that yes but for the most part everyone who isn't bussy thinking they are better than everyone else because they memorized the latest grammar police book will see the developers' real genius in creating these games and I promise you the coding and calculus skills required to create a game like this demand an intelligence that is light years beyond anything the intelligence of a grammar cop could begin to comprehend.

OK, let's put it this way: if you're that much of a genius, you can figure out how to use a damn spell-check feature.

Besides which, there are these people called "editors" who also work on the games. You might call them "professional grammar n@zis".

Ah yes, "editors."  We have dismissed that claim.

Dear Bioware, I just noticed that such e-shops like Game Stop and Best buy will give us DLC bonus like armor and gun. But in my region (Russia-Moscow) it is impossible to buy from them (region is not supported). Will you add these DLC's in stand alone trade in Origin or your web site or will you give such privilege to russians distributors? Thank you.

and sorry for broken english :)

I pre-ordered from Origin/EA, but I dig the Defender armor from GameStop; will it allow customizations or be stuck as is? That's what I'd like to know prior to giving 'another' retailer my credits.

I knew something was off with the way they had Vakyrie written there :P no need to get so wound up though, stuff like that isn't too uncommon in the industry, albeit unpleasant.

Not to burst your bubble or anything, but (should you choose to believe me) certain people (who shall remain unnamed) on this forum may have a unique perspective. They may have a mother who is an English teacher, scored an 800 on the SAT verbal section, been accepted to UVA, Duke, Boston University, and Virginia Tech for Engineering, decided they really didn't want to follow that path, worked to build a small business that helped real estate agents market better...until the market crashed, and finally, ended up in the United States Marine Corps.

So, these certain unnamed parties are well aware of the coding and design demands of a video game. They are also most likely aware that final presentation of a polished product comes down to what may seem to be insignificant details when compared to the entire game, but that show the care, professionalism, and dedication of those working on the project.

Well, for my part, I simply noted the misspelling trend. It was DT who decided to make it more than that.

You must be under the impression I give a damn about what the grammar self righteous punks think. For the most part it's a complete waste of time....as long as youcan be easily understood and people don't have to spend an hour decoding what you said all is good and you can still bring grat contributions to society far more valuable than anything a grammar cop who thinks too highly of hmself can. Hell even GMag fits this description as for the most part he is easily understood.....maybe he'll go on to discover the next revolutionary thing that changes the way we live....propper grammar and punctuation not required. Having a unique view and perspective on life is far more valuable than thinking how great you are for falling in line with those that are too bussy holding their noses high in the clouds and look down on everyone who values something different.

Unique perspective is great.....thinking too much of yourself or judging others for being better at something else is not. I speak three languages with English being the third and I have been a Marine for five years(seen combat and the whole nine yards)....the worst thing they do to you is overconfidence and the feeling that you are superior to everyone else. Only a person looking through an extremely judgemental view on life would think much or too harshly on a spelling mistake especially since with at least three different accepted English languages(US, UK and Canadian) we can have no concensus on what's correct and what isn't.
