Is this what we have to look forward to on BSN? The richeous few clamoring over the blunders of others no matter how slight? Why not a polite "Oh, well this is how it works! Hopefully I helped a bit.?"
Oh wait, this is BSN. I'm so sorry, please carry on.

Ok, so I'm a little off on my astronomical units, no need to become raging apes and blurt out "NO" and "WRONG."

Why would someone thank you for being right if you're wrong?

I don't think the Sovereign crash problem is being dismissed, I just think it doesn't get as much attention because it's not as immersion breaking.ODST 5723 wrote...
What I implied was that when you bring up an argument regarding consistency you need to back it up. That's a mighty gaping hole in the argument about what ME1 did/did not establish from a consistency perspective.
My position on the issue is covered by my suspension of disbelief factoring in the fact that what we see visually in games, not just in ME, is not necessarily indicative of the reality of that universe. Thus a plasma bolt can do X for gameplay purposes and I'm OK with it even though the lore establishes that it would tear through shields and incinerate flesh and bone. The same way that Issac Clarke only canonically took damage in a few instances the same way that Marcus Fenix, John-117 and Shepard do when it's required by the narrative and not by the gameplay.
So when I see a hole and no vacuum effects, I can infer that a barrier likely exists rather easily using what I know abut the universe. Thus, the visual representation of an iconic look isn't necessarily entirely representative of how that person would actually dress in that scenario. The breather mask, thus being a visual cue for theatrical purposes and not because the ME franchise is a hard-science franchise.
The question is... where does the majority of reasonable, rational, average ME fans draw the line? I don't think you'll find that answer on BSN because I don't think it's representative of that group.
There are reasonable people on the BSN. I have no idea where their line is, but mine starts to falter when Jack is shirtless on every world I bring her to, regardless of its climate or environment.

I wasn't watching my Shep wear a bulky helmet while so many others are wearing little breather masks.
If he had a helmet on and no one else then then I'd be like O_o WTF?

I don't think most people care about Sovie because everyone's consistent in their inconsistency. Shep's not wearing a helmet either (well mine wasn't) in that scene when he/she limps forward grinning so I didn't care.

hazardous environments result in Shepard wearing a helmet.....while a lot of squaddies just wear breathers.....just saying

Yeah that's my problem.
If Shep had the *option* between wearing said bulky helmet or a breather in said situation I wouldn't care. But he doesn't. I'm forced to wear bulky helmet that covers a good portion of Shep's face while squaddies don't have to deal with that problem. It bugs me.

Your Shepard also doesn't have the option to run around not fully decked out for a warzone even in areas where he can reasonably expect to not be attacked.

That's their "armor". And they're stuck in it. Shep at least can change his.
Plus Shep does have casual clothing on ship.
Shep does however have the option not to run around in a helmet. I don't see why that's forced if there's an alternative that does the exact same thing while allowing him to keep the bonus of his visior or whatnot.
Plus said helmet blows out his face and expressions and since the breathers don't which helps with the cinematic experience I don't see why my Shep can't get said benefit.

I agree. I was just saying that Shep should be able to wear casual clothing if the player wishes it. There are situations in both games where it makes little sense for Shepard to be wearing full combat armor and carrying several loaded weapons.

True. Wearing armor at certain points is a bit weird. Makes sense for my renegade Shep because he/she likes being intimidating but not much sense for my paragons.
So yes I'd be pro having the option for that as well.
(Frankly I would love to have Shep be able to fight in his/her hoodie. For the sheer lulz if nothing else).

So if I go out naked in a blizzard and lie down, I won't die or suffer from some type of frost-bite?Fiery Phoenix wrote...
I see people are talking about insta-freezing in space and all that good stuff. Guys, that's wrong. Our bodies store a terrible amount of heat. For that heat to be lost it would take you at least a couple hours regardless of what medium you're in; that's when you start to freeze. The insta-freezing you see in movies is bull and can't happen in real life.
